Looked decidely ropey on Football First last night, very easily cut up and threadbare in places. It was also commented on during the Radio City commentary, no mention of RL being played on it just that it didn't look in good shape.

Must be all the 'total football' being played by the Latics these days.

p.s. a crowd of around 16k with Everton taking their full allocation must be a worry.

I believe a lot of the problems were caused during the bad weather when Athletic trained on the pitch as they couldn't find an alternative. The head groundsman was not amused.

They took more than the allocation, I went with some everton fans in the wigan end.... I lost count of the amount of everton fans I spotted in the east stand. They took an extra 5000 at least. The south stand had around 700 people in.

When United won the league there a couple of years back the West Stand was all full of United fans, it was predominantly red, I couldn't get out of the ground* cos of the United fans blocking up the stairway. The South Stand was 40%-50% United as well. There really was 10-15K of United fans in the ground that day.

I don't know why Latics don't just switch every tie where they are at home and play it away like the small clubs do in the FA Cup, cos that way they may make more money.

The Man Utd fans were let in the West Stand with 10 to go so that they weren't outside and could enjoy the presentation.

Sorry Conroy the only thing that relates to Wigan about this team is the incidental badge.
