This time last year I thought that 2023 was pencilled in as a rebuilding year towards relaunch in 2024. How wrong I was. The problem is that 2024 is starting to look a bit like a rebuilding year. We have lost out on a number of very good ready made replacements, probably because they are not ready to replace the incumbents and want more opportunities and so we are going to need to find others. As it stands the new lads coming through may not be ready
Next year the team should still be pretty good even if we lose a couple of bodies however 2024 could see the need for a wholesale rebuild. By then we may have lost several senior players in Isa, possibly Bateman, KPP, French and be in need of cover across the park.
I wonder how we are likely to play it.
