You’d have tought Saints would come in against the lowest ranked team, ie the winner of 4th v 5th. Hey ho, we’ll beat Wire at home and Saints away then play Salford at O/T. Job done!!

Nope, because what would happen if 5th won? Would they go straight to GF? How is that a fair reward for finishing 5th.

1st get a week off
Play 2nd or 3rd at home
Get either a week off and straight to final if they win
Play 2nd/3rd or4th at home if they lose

Whilst 5th
Go away to 4 (lose they're out)
Go away to loser of 2v3 (lose theyre out)
Go away to loser of 1 v 2or3 (lose they're out).
Play a rested up team that have only played 1 game in 3 weeks whilst 5th have had to do it tough.

Best system weve had so far as far as I'm concerned
Everyone scrapping to get as high as they can
Doesn't reward mediocrity by letting 8th in.
Heavily favours the teams at the top.

Best system without doubt. Saints will get the reward they deserve for finishing first and each position after that rewards teams for finishing above the next in line.

I’d have been happy with 3rd place but 2nd would be fantastic for us now.

Sarg is running forwards, so I think the ball travels forwards in relation to the try line when it hits him. I get where you're coming from though and obviously that's what they've called on the day
