This whole debacle with Catalan Dragons has the potential to really damage the game. How on earth can the holders of a major trophy be treated differently to the other competitors? To ask them for half a million quid as a deposit in case the RFL can’t sell tickets is beyond a joke. I really hope Bernard Guasch sticks to his guns and refuses to pay and I’d love the big clubs to support him and boycott the competition if necessary.

Here's a radical thought.

Why don't they try a bit of publicity? Like everone else trying to sell a sporting occasion does.

It would indeed but it would be for the wrong reasons. When it’s played properly, rugby league a fantastic spectacle yet the idiots running the game somehow can’t sell it. The season is just over 3 weeks away and as far as I know, the Challenge Cup doesn’t even have a sponsor!
The Sky advert for all the sport in 2019 included pretty much every sport they cover but RL was nowhere near it. Still, at least we know where to see netball though. The whole leadership group is totally inept.
