| On behalf of the Fax Trust and as a supporter of Halifax RLFC we fully understand and appreciate the importance of a reserve grade to help with the future of our club and the game of rugby league. Unfortunately this is not supported by the RFL and we want this to change!
We have started a petition that we hope will be shared with as many rugby clubs and fans as possible to try and make a difference. Please support us by logging on to Change.org and then searching The Rugby Football League: Preserve the Reserves of Rugby League
or you can visit the Fax Trust Facebook page and follow the link.
We have also sent details of the petition to the League Express in the hope of gaining more support. Please share with everyone you know, the more signatures we get, the greater chance of success!
Many thanks,
Halifax Independent Supporters Trust

| Done. I completely agree, but as I understand it, the RFL are very much in favour, it's some individual clubs that are against it on financial grounds. Short of making it compulsory, I'm not sure what else the RFL can do.

| I'd like every SL club to have a reserve grade, but I wouldn't want to force clubs to do it if they can't afford it. Nor would I want clubs to run a reserve grade because they are forced to, with no intention of ever using the lads who play in it, as that may temporarily prevent lads from pursuing an education/job/career at another club. This may also put off potential investors for clubs that are struggling, as it's another expense to account for.

| The more players we have the better, the more playing and being trained at higher levels the better.
A reduced gene pool may give a temporary boost to the quality of a squad but long term starves the production line of quality players. Without such a strong squad and academy do we think Wigan would be where we are in the league right now?
