Quote ="Northampton_Saint"I'll put it in nice simple terms for you then with an analogy (I sometimes forget I'm talking to pies here so forgive me if I've not dumbed down enough previously
) - let's say I put a brick through your window, and in retaliation you smash my car up, and then in retaliation for that I shoot you dead in the street. Would you expect the police to prosecute either of us for criminal damage, or do you think they might forget all that and just concern themselves with the murder instead? The same thing applied on Saturday. Do you see? I can put on a puppet show to demonstrate instead if it'll make it clearer so long as you give me a few weeks to buy the stuff on eBay?'"
Gee how long did it take to think that one up? Just one flaw in the analysis though - no one was murdered.
Given Glass jaw was probably still seeing stars (this is what happens if you are daft enough to pick on someone able to defend themself following an assault) then one of his mates could have explained later that elbowing an opposition player in the face results in a red card (if the ref is, of course, competent). Easy this, isn't it .... keeping up so far?
Now I know rule breaking in Merseyside is difficult to understand (albeit you understandably moved up in the world by leaving ... I assume you live in Northampton?). You can deny the multiple salary cap breaches, the accidental breaches in medication rules, the betting against your own team .... all terrible for the games image, but you cannot deny Lance cheated .... hence the ban!
I was going to recommend you treat yourself by watching (your local team?) Northampton RUFC (good team) but if your struggling with RL rules then probably best to give the technicalities of RU a wide berth for now.
Probably best to ease up on your sarcasm pills too ... your deservedly champions and probably will be there, or thereabouts for many years to come since you have a good team .... enjoy the moment !
