I'm not sure if playing a friendly would be a good idea. This wouldn't be a run out like Melbourne against London, it would be a tough game and could result in a potentially embarrassing result a week before the main event which would only serve to harm promotional efforts over there.
It seems to have gone a bit quiet during the last few weeks regarding the WCC, so I assumed that the governing bodies concerned would be getting their heads together during the WC.
I was having a wander on the NZ Warriors site tonight and came up with the following post from the NZ site.
"Just heard on the radio there could be a NZ Warriors vs Wigan Warriors warm up match before Wigan play the Roosters!"
"Still on scheduling, there seems to be an increasing possibility Wigan will play their Warriors namesakes in Auckland the week before the World Club Challenge against Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium on February 22"
Though the weekend of the 15th is the Aukland 9s, plus our SL season will have started, so I don't see how a warm-up game will be possible?

Leeds who were in the WCC kicked off a week earlier against North wales crusaders (Round 4 game) also London played Wakefield (round 3 game) to free up london to play the Storm in a warm up the week before the World Club game
