| Just watched the 85 final and the 94 final wigan v hull and wigan v leeds thanks to the kind people at virgin that have still got the games listed, sends a shiver down my spine thinking about the pure talent i've had the pleasure to watch over the years..but to anybody who watched both games which team would you pick as your favourite, not the best. as its impossible to compare. but favourite.for me both these teams created the wigan legacy.ferguson,kenny.west and gill in one team and then the likes of offiah, bell, farrell and botica in the other.note that a certain shaun edwards played in both games, christ it's good to be a wiganer with such a fantastic history

| My favourite final was 1989. I was there. We beat Saints. We nilled Saints. I was only 9 at the time so couldn't fully appreciate what I was witnessing, but having watched the game on my VHS hundreds of times since, I can honestly say that's as close to 80 minute perfection against a very good opponent as I have ever seen.
A lot of people forget that just six days earlier Saints came to Central Park and turned us over in a tight Premiership game, winning 4-2. We’d lost the league title decider to Widnes at Naughton Park in mid-April and I can remember going down on the charabang with a non-too confident dad. His nerves passed on to me but when the Beast went over after what seemed like seconds I knew we were in for a great afternoon. Poor Gary Connolly was bullied all game while I can't remember seeing a better 80 minutes than the one Ellery Hanley put in.
Hampo, Tony Iro, Kevin Iro, Bell, Lydon, Edwards, Andy Greg, Lucas, Nicky Kiss, Wayne Shelford, Platt, Potter, Ellery Hanley, Betts and Goodway.
