Quote ="inside_man"If we're going into the season with our hopes of success resting on 2 players who missed the entirety of last season through injury (Amos + Fielden) and a player who has played about 3 games in what will be about 3 years then we are screwed.
I hope (and think) Fielden + Hock will play big parts next season, but we can't go in thinking they will tear the league apart. If they do, great, it's a bonus.
I'd be suprised if Amos ever got his place back in the team (Regularly), I hope he does but even when he was fit, he only showed that form for 2 months out of his first 18 months.
Dudson is a decent signing, he is very young + has potential, replacement for O'Carroll. I think Flower is going to Hudds, so he is a bit irrelevant. Lauaki is a shocking signing if it's true.
We need a centre, and a hooker/HB, and top ones as well. If you add Gleeson to the list of players we've lost from last season you've got a pretty sizeable hole in the side.'"
i read rlfans pritty much everyday and do agree with the majority and balance of what you post especially on the wolves board.
But i think the point me and wigan peer agree with is that the 3 players in mention will have an effect on the squad and will feel as if 3 new signings and if some one told me that wigan have just signed gaz hock, amos roberts and stuart fielden i would be a very happy supporter if you look at the sqaud what we already have i would say that we are better than saints and leeds and it is every bit as strong as the gf winning team bar gleeson.. it isn't all doom a gloom as it being portrayed i have a feeling people believing that gareth thomas has signd and will be a big saviour when in all honesty we really dont need one.
