Quote ="piemuncher"After having 24 hours or so to reflect on the game, watch it back again and read some other posters viewpoints, perhaps all is not lost.
As far as yesterday is concerned - yes we were well beaten, but to beat us when we played so poorly Saints had to play very well. And, had two incidents gone our way then we could even have acheived an embarrassing victory. Sam's failure to ground the ball cost us 6 points, and in the build up to Wellens 2nd try the ball was lost by Roby trying to offload, went forward, but Bentham waved play on. [size=150In the immediate multi-angle Sky playback after the try this incident was omitted (I wonder why)? [/sizebut I have slowed down the play and swear Roby knocks on before the ball touches Sam.....
Last season we ended up going down route B to the GF, at the time I had real doubts that we could beat Leeds away to get there having seen a similar tepid performance as yesterdays a week or two before against them at the DW.
The good news then is we are capable of doing it, but the immediate worry for me is not the probable Semi Final away at Saints, its the Catalan home fixture. They buried us here this season and then away too, and they looked on fire the other night on TV.
If, and this is surely his biggest task yet, Maguire can get the team out of this post-CC rut and focus them enough to beat Catalan, I think that we can beat Saints away with that momentum just as we did against Leeds last year.
Which then leaves the small matter of Warrington or (probably) Leeds in the GF.'"
I must confess to going all Miss Pissypants about SKY's coverage.
The pass to Lomax for Stains first try was a good yard forward yet SKY never showed the replay from that angle.
The pass to Richards for his try was a good yard forward and SKY showed replay after replay.
Roby deffo knocked on in the leadup to Wellens try yet SKY didn't show the replay of that incident until well after the try was awarded.
