I remember Eddie Hemmings commenting on what an awesome clash it was between Connolly and Matautia. Yeah ... right.

Not sure how anybody could have walked off on Sunday. The lads deserved a full stadium applauding them for their efforts against a top top side. Saying that, st george deserved more credit for their part in what was a great game.

My late grandmas brothers (Blans) played for Wigan in the 40's and 50's and she went to every game
to watch them play. she always left before the end and it was a standing joke with us for years because
quite often Wigan would be losing and she would get off home, and later that day find out that they had actually won.
