This is no bad thing.

McNamara is RL's answer to making Steve McLaren the England soccer manager.

(apart from the fact that McLaren we quite successful at club level)


The Aussies get Wayne Bennett, we get McNamara................... great.

He wasn't really though at all. He has been since his England shambles though.

Hopefully Brian Smith his "advisor" in the coaching team will be offering most of the players advice that they listen to over McNamara's "coaching".

I am a little surprised more has not been made of his appointment in the coaching set up. I think it is a real coup for England even if we do have McNamara officially at the helm.
