I work in Salford so have a kind of soft spot for them. The feeling amongst the Salford fans is that they won't really compete unless they change the likes of Simms & McRae, they feel that as with a new ground they need new coaching staff to match. I kind of agree with them to an extent although a complete sweep isn't the right thing to do. I would groom Alker as a replacement for McRae as a more long term solution but keep McRae onboard (for a while at least.
As for next season, i think they will do well but bringing so many new players in at one time maybe a problem especially in key positions. I think they should make the top eight though and will shock some of the bigger teams along the way, either way its good for Salford and for rugby league this side of the pennines aswell
Quote="salfordsno1"we will beat you next year no problem home and away and finish in the top four any problems meet me in the club house at the willows and we will ave a beer red army !!!!!

Your're going a bit OTT there mate. A few decent signings compared to what you have now and a top 8 finish is a realistic target but top 4 will only happen in ypur dreams. A step in the right direction though.
