the most impressive thing to me is the mass support play, everytime anyone gets there arm free there are 5 or 6 players trying there hardest to get up in support, its not just the backs neither many time on the highlights its second rowers, lockers and both piggy and micky mac, i think that was the best attacking play we have played all season
Was good to see Pryce celebrating with Bailey just after Paaaats (I think) try, He does seem to be starting to enjoy himself and I for one am getting a bit tired of hearing people still slate him and saying all his tries are walk ins, he took 2 of his 3 tries really well and they were anything but walk ins.
Just had a look at the highlights - very impressive!
A couple of things;
Every break was backed up by 3, 4 or 5 players - we haven't had this sort of enthusiasm since MIke gregory was in charge.
The defence was awsome - the attitude by all the players to make the tackle and sprint back to the line - just before half time fielden is sprinting back to the line like he's running the 100m, piggy the same a little later.
Wakefield seemed to get 3 men in the tackle quite often, then peel slowly off - made me smile as Kear has been so vocal about wigans slowing down tactics. Not that it did them much good though..........
the 2nd last try - inside ball & break up the middle was very similar to the moves put on by andy greg, supported by, edwards, hanley, Hampson, Bell all in the middle of the pitch all running onto it - blew the defence apart pretty much every time they put on the play - either an inside ball or a chip over the top.
The amount of movement off the ball, with support and dummy runners was better than anything i've seen at wigan for years.
If lockers is fit then I think we have a very good chance of giving saints a very tough game this week.
