That's the point. The song & beat give the team a lift when it needs to get on a roll, develop a rhythm. I'll give you an example of when it worked. That derby game a few years ago we won 22-20 (i think) at the JJB when we were decimated with injuries. It definately galvinised the team. That was different. We were out of it with nothing to lose. Now at Quins they started doing it when Quins were dead and buried. Quins scored and they still carried on banging out the rhythm, Quins scored again and so the beat continues. Quins start to associate this with the timing of their comeback. Whether we agree of disagree on this point, the fact was that Quins scored 4 tries whilst we were still saluting their efforts with the same joyful beat in the stands. Someone should have thought lets try another song to fire up Wigan because this one sure as hell isn't working.
