Quote ="Leyland Warrior"I hate to say i told you so, but........
Some of the predictions on here were from Fantasyland IMO
We were never going to give this game 100%, so soon after the Easter exertions.
And the Eagles had absolutely nothing to lose, and everything to gain.
Just wish i'd put a few quid on that points spread!

Give over. Mike MaGuire named a full strength squad and brought the lads over to Sheffield a day earlier and they stopped in a hotel nearby. It was professional preperation which exemplified how serious the team were taking this game and Sheffield in particular. MaGuire was unhappy with our attack last week and so will have wanted to rectify it this week before the Harlequins match. Sheffield were a bunch of part timers and we are the current best side in Super League playing our strongest available squad with great preparation before the match. We should have absolutely annihilated Sheffield. No excuses.
That was our most disappointing performance this season. It felt like a defeat and the 400 Sheffield fans celebrated it like a victory. Our defence was atrocious. We weren't as physical & aggressive in defence which has seen us batter teams throughout this year. We were lazy and tried scoring on every play. The cue was on the rack after we scored on the very first play IMO. I was furious leaving the ground after the way we had played. I can't even began to imagine how MaGuire and Wane must be feeling.
Okay, we are through to the next round, but the performance was not good enough and that's two times in a row we have done that. We MUST respond against Harlequins on Friday - who won yesterday - and address our defensive issues.
