Agreed but not to this level, and at the time most of the older generation frond upon it, seems now these have grown up and shout random garbage at the kicker in an attempt to put him off, while the kids still do it.

It's always gone on in league and is no worse now than it was 20-30 years ago when I first started to watch the game.
Lets be honest it's not snooker or golf, both games/sports in which silence is usually expected. RL is a team sport played in front of vociferous crowds so why expect silence all of a sudden when the opposition step up to take a kick?
If anything the silence preceding a kick in union is just another example of the holier than thou attitude that most union followers tend to adopt. To be honest I'm surprised you can't hear more people snoring - perhaps they ask someone to wake them up whenever there is a penalty?
I don't bother by the way, but am happy to let the younger generation make a racket.

Davies was a tremendously gifted player (despite Badwanger thinking Wellens was as good as him!

). I would have loved to have seen him in the cherry and white. We had so many legends in that era it is greedy to have wanted another, but he was a superb player and one of the few British players that could have added something to the great Wigan sides of that era.
