Loan Davies out for a year, hopefully. It would make a mockery of everything IL spouted last night. We are supposed to bringing through young talent, yet we could be thinking of letting young players like Flannagan and Davies go.
I asked IL last night at the FF about loaning players out and how it would work under the new dual registration rules. How many could you loan out was there a time period etc.
IL said the restrictions are on the recipient club in that they can only have four loan players and max of three from any one club.
What IL did say was that under the new dual reg rules a player could play one week for Wigan, his home club, then the next week for his loan club.
There would not be a 28 day period as now where the loaned player cannot return to his home club. He explained that's why Liam Farrell hadn't been loaned out due to the 28 day rule.
If Ben Davies is going to Widnes then it will be under the new rules, which are now or soon to be in force.
In view of IL's emphatic attitude that it's Wigan produced players which our future is to be based upon I can't see Davies going on a permanent deal to Widnes.
A loan deal there will do him a lot of good and be in Wigan's interest long term.
Whatever deal, a year loan or permanent to widnes i be happy. We can not pay lots at widnes due to salary cap.To get a franchise we need a few youngsters as we cant get the quality aussies like yourselves. All we can do is try to be competitive and hope next time around we join the big teams like yourselves.Hope you beat warrington this weekend and i thank wigan for giving us some good players.
