I recall as a child in 1980 receiving a Wigan Rugby lampshade for a Christmas present which said 'We are the Greatest'

I was 9 and we hadn't won jack since the 60's yet I knew it was true.

In 1980 we were the most successful rugby league club in the world. The record books told me that and this was BEFORE our magical era 1985-1995.

Sullivan, Egan, Boston, McTigue, first Wembley winners, Eric Ashton Prince of Centres, Hanley The Black Pearl, 8 in a row, ANZ 94, record championship & challenge cup winners.

It was called "Wigan" Rose Bridge when i played there.

There was, and before Ince Rose Bridge, wasn't it Ince St Williams?
