Working in the Manchester area, I went to Maine Rd with around 10 others from work, only me and one other Wiganer, a Leyther and none of the rest of whom were particularly interested in Rugby of either code, apart from Rob our canteen mon (and pitied Wire supporter).

It was a night out from work which involved a curry in Rusholme at Shere Khans (alright at the time but subsequently been done by the environmental health !



The match wasn't worth watching, it was so one sided and half of the lads drifted off to the pub long before the end.

Guscott IS a gutless, over rated tosspot of the first rank.....but his view on the whole idea was in fairness reasonably accurate I thought.

Remember Radlinski making an error similar to the Bath ones. (out of instinct basically) He tackled Callard right on the Bath line and instead of standing up and picking it up when Callard let the ball go, he put his hands on it whilst off his feet which resulted in a penalty. Would have been 44-28 had he done it right.

With regards to the SL title, had Terry Matterson's conversion not hit the bar and gone over we would have still won the title anyway.

Well so people say but we still lost to Bradford away later in the season just after getting back into the race by beating Saints at home.
