Aye and I remember a last minute winning try at Hunslet (Elland Road dog track) not jumpers for goalposts but Giant tuning forks ....any old how me me mate and his Dad went up all joyous in the Stand/Bar and we were pelted with ale from above (fortunately the "glasses" were plastic !)
It's just a shame he fell in with Terry Hollingsworth, Billy Melling etc.
Today he would have been a top class player.'"
He was a top class player then..but I know what you mean he would have been a crowd favorite (as he was then) but now he would have brought more to the club to watch him . one of the best wingers I've seen at wigan..and we've had a few!.. shame what happened to him..but for the fans that saw him in action the memories are still there.
