| Quote ="Prince of Denmark"I do think a £10 walk up price is a bit too cheap though. If it was £15 we'd still be the cheapest in the league.
'"
Problem is, if you are looking to attract NEW fans, then £15 is a tad steep. Remember, the target audience are lapsed northern ex-pats, Australians, Union fans, Soccer fans out of season and locals..........and if you make it attractive (£10), then you have a better chance of getting them through the gate. The £100 ST should take care of the occassionals, so the £10 walk up ticket will be purely for the Newbies.
Bottom line is, that the current ticketing system isn't working, with people paying £15 to sit in a £25 seat and stewards who don't enforce the correct allocation. 2 Blocks, heavily stewarded and tickets checked, with the rest £10 walk up seats

Maybe altered slightly along the lines of

East/West unallocated ST £149.00
East/West allocated est seats £199.00 [heavily stewarded
Walk up Adult £10.00
Walk up child/student/OAP £1.00
7 game ST North/South £69.00
7 game ST East/West £89.00
Unallocated East/West Family £299.00 [2 adults / 2 child
Unallocated North/South Family £199.00 [2 adults / 2 child
10% discount on all ST prices if renewed/taken up Pre Nov 1st'"
This all sounds eminently sensible - so in all honesty the chances of the club doing something like this would be f**k all squared, in a box!

| Homer's model makes a lot of sense to me too - the only adjustment I would make is the increase the child/OAP/student rate to £5. There are quite a few older folk and students who currently buy season tickets - making it a £1 walkup would completely take that revenue away.

Fair point, although I would still keep U16's @ £1.00.
Not sure about students though, given we are tied up with a college, making the package totally a no brainer to miss a game for them seems an obvious marketing ploy to me & then the neckers can drink themselves stoopid in the bar
How about a ST ticket for Students @ £35.00 or £5.00 walk up?

| Right....
had a chance to think about this more.
Given a number of £300 punters have declared "publicly" to the club that they won't be back next season and the general chaos that has been the stewarding.....how about this for an idea.
ALL tickets at £10.00......or a Season ticket for £100 with an allocated seat. No frills.....first come first served on position of seat.
If the Ian L calculator is in play, then the revenue from every attendee is £9.50. This takes into account the Kids and OAP offers and the "freebie" tickets handed out over the years (I suspect that the Wigan gate last year had 2,500 freebies in it)
This means that we are generating £32,575.50 per game in revenue this season to date. Therfore, we need to keep this revenue the same we need to sell 3,250 ST's and every walk up fan is a bonus thereafter.
So, how do we add 1,500 odd to the ST base figure? Well, I would guess that most walk up fans have attended (will by the last game anyway) 7 games, so £100 is a bargain.
The original idea I was aiming for was to get us to 5,000 A.S.A.P and I still believe that £100 for a ST and £10 for a walk up is the way foreward. This would need to be marketed to "bu993ry" and may well result in a drop in gate revenue in year 1......but as DH has alluded to, gate revenue isn't an issue. We can survive on SLY TV cash alone, so why not do it for 2 seasons and see if we end up nearer 6,000 than 3,000 average at the end of 2011....
Tell you what, if it failed, the RFL would still grant us another licence just for having the balls to try it!
The club would need to double the money spent on stewards, then the allocated section (3 blocks...maybe 4) would be policed correctly. The remaining 6 sections are unallocated and less stewards required. Away fans would be directed to CASH ONLY TURNSTILES at the side of the North and sold North stand seats only.........
Might sound extreme to some fans........BUT.
In the words of Jack the Joker Nicholson..........you can't make an omlette without breaking a few eggs.

| This is my 2 penneth,
LV Stand middle 3 sections Season ticket holders £150 tops. If not sold out tickets for this section not on a match day but in advance £20, Mini season ticket also available £85. Other tickets available £10 walk up on the gate. As stated earlier by others Season ticket area heavily stewarded.
Ethiad stand. All tickets £10 walk up anybody wanting season tickets for this stand allocated AE block £120 heavily stewarded.
North stand Away support tickets in advance to the opposing club £9. Kids £5. Anyside selling this stand out AA/AB/AC Ethiad to them in advance as stated.
South stand Community stand local schools colleges and community groups . Tickets only from the club and heavily stewarded to stop this being abused.
Other ideas Drinks dispensers in the ground got too make money.
Shuttle bus from Twickenham station to the stoop 4 journeys an hour until 2.30 May make fans drink in the ground rather than Twickenham.
Also a soft drinks stall for those who do not want to drink at the game.

I get high on RL I don't need to imbibe. I do drink but not at matches. Though sometimes I think the performances would look better if I was blotto! Each to their own, and I think you will find there are a majority who do not drink alcohol at our games. One reason why some people don't come to RL as they associate it with Rugger types drowning themselves in ale.

Are you more boring in real life-If so wear a flashing light on your head will you.
Crowd failure warning- RL club sells beer preventing people from attending- add that to the sun & skin cancer, east stand, away fans sitting in east stand, people dressing in football kits + Dame Edna kit, away fans with BO-we will get the perfect game experience and master race yet
I wish those that dont drink Alcohol at the games would stay away from the bar as its giving a false impression as its always busy

| Quote ="gutterfax"Now, given I will be many many miles away by the time the season KO's next Feb, I don't have much personal financial interest, but I was just wondering if there would be any merit in going down the Huddersfield route and offering a full season for £100?
If we have 1,500 ST holders currently paying an average of £250, then this would cost an initial £225k in revenue. The up-side would be the potential uptake from those occassionals. I am not saying we would add to 2,250 ST holders, but if the club were to promote this heavily between now and the start of next season, then I can see at least 1,000 being added to the average.
'"
Impressive of PP to crawl up once again, are you the same? but as you don't have a season ticket this year, had one last year when they were £69, the previous season by your own admission you used spares and frrebies and didn't hold a season ticket the year before that ...... you are not best placed to make any comments on this.
Getting a bus going then fair enough ......

Aha......so, because I use my initiative to get into games, I have no place in making a suggestion that may or may not increase attendences? Interesting assertion there.
Given that I only have the best interest of the club at heart and was only making a suggestion, getting shot down in flames by someone who pays top dollar (or that's the way you are coming across) is not the response I would have expected.
Tell you what, as you seem to think that 90% of what I say is unadultarated tripe, why don't you just carry on as is. Don't try to attract more fans through the gates and the club can continue to hit mid table mediocrity due to being unable to afford or attract decent players accross the squad because they don't have the additional funds available. Short term hits, like dancers and the Dame Edna offer are great, but I would suspect that a promotion in TNT, offering 13 home SL games, 1 Challenge Cup game and possibly free entry into 13 draws for a European Weekend break may well see more Season Tickets sold if priced correctly. £300 to an Australian is a non starter, but £100 (or £7.70 a game) is very attractive (IMO that is)
Please remember, regardless of how arrogant and/or aggressive I come accross, I do only want to see a successful club both on and off the pitch.

| How about we open two stands.
Open the LV stand for season ticket holders only, totally unallocated seating at a cost of £199 and £100 for under 16 and OAP. Don't open any other facilities on that side of the ground apart from the toilets which can be accessed from outside. This keeps the costs down, only needs about three stewards and there will be availability for ST holders to bring friends along.
Open the East stand for all walk-ups, one end for Quins fans the other for visiting fans and again totally unallocated seating. Keep all the facilities of the Jester Bar and Kings Bar the same as now. Ticket price £10 adults £5 per child and OAP
This would give a clear indication as to whether the fans really do want to sit in the LV stand and if so the club benefit from the pre season ticket sales. It means you can opt to have a season tiocket or not, pricing is two bands only - should be simple to maintain and save aggrevation when you bring a friend it is hard to sit together.
