Ain't that the truth.
At every point in our recent history, we seem to be on a mission to find the most effective way to jettison any current/lapsed/potential fan base.

| Hold my hand up, I was wrong about the half time score, but not by much. If nothing else this season, we will set a new Fulham/ Crusaders/ Broncos/ Quins/ Broncos record for nillings.

It’s becoming like a parody now. Even the commentators are going through the motions. “They never give up” “Eccles has done the best with what he has” “ They had a real purple patch/decent spell/ dominant period (describing a 5 to 10 minute period)” Bassett’s back story, Miloudi a real character. Bottom line everyone knows we’re going to get tonked by a 30-50 point margin and there is very little merit in the matches. One cannot escape the fact we are harming the brand.

Replace "real character" with "liability" to be closer to the truth.

I can see he has merits and we need an X factor player desperately so he is all we can get then so be it but personally I’ve had it up to here with him. I hope we’ll go a different way next season. ( I should say I have a suspicion he’s a lovely fella - just I don’t think we can afford to have him on our team.)

| The post-match reaction from Cake posted by the club on socials lasted a full 9 seconds. Sums us up. I can't wait until next season when we can compete with a similar opponent in the Championship.

| I like Cake but his good effort story has got pretty stale. If Hughes really was interested in building the club or having a decent case against the IMG gradings he needed to bring some better quality players in.

That’s on the assumption we make half an effort on the recruitment/retention front. If the last few years are anything to go by we can look forward to potentially sliding into the playoffs - if they are even a thing anymore.

Yes he seems very admirable and what else can he do really but we have undoubtedly made IMGs case for them on the lack of merits of the play off promotion process.

| A surprisingly good turnout , I thought. Not the easiest place to for us get to and some train issues on the return leg highlighted that for me. I doubt I'd go back if used for another one off game. My wife was fed up with the team playing in the quartered away kit, anyone know why? Fair play to Saints fans for applauding our lads when we scored.

Beggars the question (if anyone can be bothred to ask him) why we left back in 2014.......because there's a decade that none of us are ever going to get back......The only bright spots I can recall is Danny Wards side almost staying up and 2 fluke play-off wins, the 2nd resulting in this pointless season where will break a few unwanted SL records.
I'd hazzard a guess that a return to West London was the reason a load of lapsed fans were at the stoop.

You think just being back at the Stoop was that big a draw?
Maybe a pilgrimage for the lapsed fan?

Brentford, Twickenham and eventually Trailfinders all "seemed" like home. From what ive heard, Wimbledon has the feel of "the hive" about it....a little too far away from our west london home area...

Wimbledon is fine as a ground. I would say much better than the Hive both in terms of facilities and transport. The main issue is it can't be used for a big chunk of the season.

Deffo better than the Hive but the inordinate length of time the ground is not available to us negates in my view playing there.
I'd still try to do a deal with Quins while they might be interested.

I’ll give you Brentford and Trailfinders - for me I think we played some of our best rugby at those venues. I was never at the Stoop in the first stint there, never really felt like home to me after leaving Griffin Park , which to me was a great ground. Maybe it’s just me, I never really took to the whole pastels thing.
I think under different circumstances we could have been OK at The Hive- was a decent size for us, plenty of room for parking, not too far a walk to the tube, north of London so easy access for visiting fans coming by road.
Second half of last season- when we started to get our act together PL has started to feel like home . I think it’s been good this season, some of the pastings we’ve had notwithstanding, as the crowds have been up and it seems like we’re settled there. I hope we can retain some of the new fans who’ve come along for next season, it’ll be a real shame to go back to just 500 or so in the one stand back in the Championship.

Exactly- which is why I thought moving from a ground with an all weather artificial surface to a grass pitch at a football ground was a daft idea! It was a dead cert we’d be made homeless for the summer!
