Are you honestly saying some of the young players such as Foster & Gaskell have not done well, after leaving Saints? - and don't say they wanted to leave!

Sorry Ritchie, you can't blame Woods & The RFL for what McManus & Rush do at Saints, I can't even do that.

Foster was let go because his confidence level hit rock bottom midway through the year, loaned him to hull to see how he would react and the coaching staff thought Makinson offered more potential - I liked Foster at saints, but he would be behind both Makinson and Swift who are coming through and just wasnt right for us - Im sure hell be a very good super league player.

Gaskell leaving was slightly different. He managed to alienate himself to 3 different coaches to end up not being picked. Brown spoke very highly of Gaskell when he first arrived, but within a few weeks he was once again sidelined. What he does to be sidelined has never fully been explained - Im less convinced hell make it as a superleague player but I hope for the lads sake to be proved wrong.

Wheeler is a truly special player, better than eastmond or lomax in my opinion ... if you can get him on the field, next year will be make or break for him (literally) and i cant say which way its gonna go!

As for Ashe, hes not as bad as the saints thread suggests, his problem is he was announced to the fans as the next best was gonna be a replacement for wello (he is a full back, but plays 6 occasionally) etc when he was 15, but hes not been able to develop to live up to the hype as he hasnt really progressed physically in his time at saints. Hes good technically though just doesnt really have the strength/ speed to make it happen. I would watch with interest to see how he develops with you guys as he could be a good signing - but is a gamble

Good riddence tony club - he has shown his true colours with further comments and I for one hope he never again appears in one of our games. His comments about if there was promotion / relegation you try a little harder. News flash to mr clubb, if you have pride in yourself and want to help your co-workers you always try hard. If you have integrity you always do your best. If you want to take a pay packet you work hard and earn it. Obviously if a player doesnt possess these standards I dont want to see him in our shirt. Hope the club fines him for the damage he has done and ships him out to a feeder club till the end of his contract. Maybe he can earn an english jersey playing in a lower division.

We should get a fee for Lee, he didn't sign for only one season. It would be sad to see some of these players playing better for other teams. Some may continue with their poor form!

Failure has become acceptable at the club....because he is willing to speak up about it is no reason for us to turn on him...Gower left for exactly the same reason...Soward sounds astonished at what is considered acceptable....

...the club is a mess and pointing the finger at a player who is prepared to tell it as it is, will not change anything!

He may be a part of the problem now, but he wasn't a couple of years back....something has changed him and that something is what is killing the club from within.

Failure to accept mistakes have been made, but instead ploughing on regardless have killed this club.....nothing less than a total change from Full-back to CEO is going to turn it around in the required time.

Saints youngsters all seem to fall into one of three categories: the model professional (ie Roby, Makinson), the over enthusiastic puppy (ie Graham, Foster) or the egotist (ie Eastmond and from what I can gather Gaskell).

Ashe definitely falls into the over enthusiastic puppy, and if he can develop his body he'll be a good squad player for you guys (I'd suggest start with him on the wing for a few seasons ala Foster until he can be physical enough).

No, they should sack Gus, Tony Rae and everyone else who has been rewarded with continued employment regardless of their continued failures.
TR is a failing coach of a failing team....he is the cause of the failure as it seems the same errors are being made week in week out. The fact he is still employed is down to the CEO, who himself, has failed in every stated aim made since Jan 14th 2011.....the fact the CEO is still employed is down to the Chairman who has little understanding of anything in the real world of sports/business management.

When I started posting on these boards, specifically about marketing, I was at best, an enthusiastic amateur. I am now a professional marketer and in the process of becoming a qualified business strategist.......but over the last 10 years there has been one constant at the club and that is the total and utter lack of understanding of how to run a business and how to market that business and it's product...I knew this as an enthusiastic amateur, but now as a professional it is screaming at me. I can't think of many businesses that have run at a 30%+ loss year in year out for 10 years and have never changed their strategy of business model and that are still in existence.....even other professional sports clubs try to change things when time are bad....but not London RL.

The buck doesn't stop with David Hughes by the way.....it stops firmly with the RFL for letting it get this bad.

I also think he has a valid point, BUT there are many ways of announcing it and he picked a bad one.

Maybe he was badly advised by an agent but saying it as the captain to Sky in the week before a big game was not on.

He should have said that after he left, not while he was still employed by us. It probably also hadn't occurred to him that slagging off your current employer in public doesn't look good to a future potential one.

Sadly it says a lot about Tony, and many players these station, how they see themselves, often via agents and managers, feeding them hype.

There was talk about St Helens interest, but that has gone very quiet.

Once Gary Wheeler is fully fit he'll be awesome, watched him play and he could see where defence was lacking and shot through.

Please keep Matty Cooke and Tommy Lee, 2 guys that seem to give their all EVERY game they play!
