Not sure what you mean dog! We have a backer who puts in enough to keep us full time, I never said we were living within our generated income.

Fair enough guys, well I for one will go into the season coming like every other season, with an optimistic view. And will enjoy my rugby the way I have done since my first game many years ago with all its ups and downs!!!

Would you enjoy it more if we had a stronger team than last year rather than a weaker one which is likely to take a few beatings possibly against mid/lower end teams? optimism or confidence?

I will be supporting the team whatever happens, clubs have ups and downs, it's how you handle the downs.
Yep it would be great if we finished top next year walked the 8s and won the GF in 2019.

I call Bullcrap on that.......you are constantly sniping at anyone who dares have a "downer" on the club, be it historical or current.....Lovell was average at best before his injury and he will be a handy back up should we need him, but as with other "signings", many fans are of the opinion that we will be weaker than last year and may even struggle to make the qualifiers.

Cannot agree with you it's debt! Has DH ever said it's an investment? Investments you expect a return, if he is happy paying the bills then that's a whole different issue, that then is an income stream!.

Not sure why signings like will L are such a surprise, we are a championship side, at the moment we can only afford to be a championship side, we have no given right to think we should have SL status, so signings are likely to reflect that. Back to the same thing, we cannot do anything about it apart from come through the gate and support the club or not.

We can probably afford to be a Championship side but can we afford to be a full time Championship side? That's the real question, not whether or not we can fund Superleague.

Also how does David put his money in? If he writes it off, no it's not debt. If it is as directors loans and it sits on the balance sheet then it certainly is debt and has the potential to cause issues further down the line.

So being conservative say 1.5 mil a year even over 5 years that's 7.5 mil if it was an investment DH would be expecting that figure or that figure plus back. Does anyone really think how it works? It's sport, it's his rich mans toy remember, he knows its money spent, not money invested.

I don't think anyone is saying he expects it back but if it is directors loans it sits on the books as a debt and will need to be sorted if the club is taken over or folds. It could be sorted via a write off but it's still debt.

My ice hockey club was run along very similar lines until recently. Ended up writing off ludicrously large sums for a club that got similar gates to Broncos.

The outstanding debt to David Hughes and let us not forget Ian Lenegan is a barrier to the club going forward.
It would have to be addressed before anyone would seriously consider taking over the club.
Another consideration is that David Hughes is not getting any younger. I believe he will be seventy three in January. How long will he want or be able to hang around?
As has been said previously, now is the time that the club should be planning for its long term future. Surely he would not want his legacy to simply die. But that remains the prospect.

What DH puts into the club every year he knows that is never getting back. As for New investors and the “debt” you call it that, some call it “value” of the club.
When you sell a car that you have owned for 5 years you want the value of the car, the price is that, not the value of the car and the cost of all the petrol you put into it over the 5 years, same concept

So by your logic the club is in debt by what 10mil plus to DH? It’s not about accepting that I am wrong it’s about reality. Any money DH has put into the club he knows is not coming back so even if it is a loan it will be written off, otherwise there is no viable handover of ownership option, london broncos RL will never make money in the foreseeable future, very much like every other RL club in the UK.
