Of course.

Maybe you were'nt around when Fulham withdrew, (no shame, I wasn't either) but when the 2nd Fulham entity went belly-up, is when I did get involved, been there ever since and for over twenty years I've heard the doom-mongers tell me I won't have a club to support VERY soon, and the punt-monkies, toasting and cheering the news that London RL is about to dissapear....well guess what? Still here!

No Stadia to play at?? Been there!
No Money for away trips?? Been there!
Not enough players to field a team?? Been there!
No money for kit?? Been there!
Owners pulling the plug?? Been there!

Been there, BUT still here! GF' you really must get over this delusion you have that London RL is all about Mr Hughes, it REALLY isn't y'know! It's about the few hundred of us RL fanatics in the capital, some have been around from the early 80's, some like me, from the early 90's, some joined in '96 with SL and all the hooplah and we've even a few more recent noobs, who have decided to persevere.

You may not like this, but I am not about to Foxtrot Oscar at Mr Hughes' say-so, nor yours for that matter! I don't disagree with your views on how it's been run, or on the dreadful lack of marketing, PR and promotional activity, I agree that Hughes has wasted shedloads of cash and employed imbeciles, but WE can't change that. Just don't get carried away with the idea that we are gonna dissapear, it really ain't gonna happen, Hughes might, London RL won't, count on it!

Dead in the waterI DON'T THINK SO. RL in the south will be supported by the RFL and quite rightly. It's great to see the structure that's developed in the south and your club must now link in to the increased activity. I'm a RL supporter from the North but spend most of my working life in the south. I have always thought that any London based team will be up against it mainly because its never acheived any kind of stability . Getting people interested ain't easy, keeping them interested needs a dedicated team with a genuine interest. The London club must now formulate a plan over a set period of time, make it achievable and keep the supporters up to date, it ain't going to happen over night. One things for sure the souths got some realy good talent , it's now up to London to develop as a club and make itself attractive. Good luck

Interesting use of words in the RFL press release. The Super 8's will "largely determine the make up of Super League and the Championship the following season."

Presumably this just recognises SL will surely have a tougher ground grading etc but......

Sure was, it was beyond my comprehension that no-one at the club could see there wasn't enough Props to have ANY chance at all, I assumed that in fairly short order the services of two or three big old ugly props were going to be obtained and this would at least give us a platform to squeeze a few wins from.

My son is 16, and likes cricket & boxing, yet even he has grasped the basic principle that RL games are won (and lost) on the platform created by the Forwards, not enough Forwards = No bloody platform! Excuse me for believing that even the imbeciles appointed by Mr Hughes would see what a non-interested 16 year old could!

As for us "folding", get over yerself! As long as theres fans, theres a club, maybe not a very good club, but a club non the less. You do talk sense most of the time dude, and for the most part you tend to get your facts right, but you gotta get out from under that cloud and try and cheer yersel' up, smile and look on the bright side!

With London being the richest area of England, I'm still not sure how we have been unable throughout these years to find money to get a consortium of millionaires with an interest in RL to invest in the club. Now we've been relegated that is probably a much harder task... but DH can't fund us forever and we really need to be putting the feelers out for rich investors to come on board.

There must be a plot of land somewhere if we could encourage investment that we could purchase and build a stadium on.... I know, I know... it requires capital to do so and also planning consent from LA's... but stranger things have happened.

Anyway, enough dreaming.... we are where we are.....

Do I think we can come back? Yes... I do. But it won't be easy and it probably won't happen in the first year. I've said on other threads all we needed is a squad to finish in the top 4 of the league... but having thought more, the SL in the play structure will always be a massive favourite. Not only are they full time (like a number of championship clubs now are), but the quality of player and their experience will give them a huge advantage.

Playing top tier opposition every week develops the SL team at a faster rate than a championship side (both being full time)... so we'd probably just be in shock at their speed and accuracy when we play the play-off compared to what we'd of experienced throughout the regular season.

Unless we were ruthless with the players and demanded (and achieved) winning each game of the regular season by 50 points (not going to happen), we'd be sat on our backsides in the play off game.

That all said though... a one-off shock can happen and it would take immediate recruitment processes to start for any championship team that is lucky to win the game to get players to keep them in SL.

I'm going to be optimistic... we can do it and come back yes.

Next year depends on the final squad signed, how the coaching team bring them forward and the financial support from the owners. We are still not sure of the final squad but it'll be likely agreed before the end of November which is a bit different to last year and we may be also clear about other aspects. Though grateful for the extra issues, excluding the ground, to be outlined.

We have most of confirmed and as we are playing in an unknown league (to most of us) we really can't say one way or t'other if we will compete.

Coach comes with a reputation of being good and does look quite deflated when talking about hsi current squad, but he may well be confident of what he can achieve with a squad he has assembled next year.

We are full time next year thanks to the parachute payment. 2016 is a whole different matter and Hughes needs to declare his intentions past 2015 because crowds of 500 or so ain't going to finance a competitive team (or satisfy the landlord/partner/host/administration provider)

I'm with CrusaderPete and mickyb, we'll still be here in one form or another because we, the fans, the REAL fans, will still be here.

Have to say summat before Gf goes off on one its what I have hinted at a few times Gf cannot be denied the label of fan, as he is certainly a fanatic of the club, however he is not a supporter of the club, it's those of us that currently provide actual support by going to watch and paying at the gate that do that

Depends how you define fan. I struggle to see how a fan would constantly belittle those who are loyal.

Agree with you on that point, you cannot deny he is a fanatic in regards to the club, how he goes about his business is actually the issue.
We still have the supporters of the club, hopefully we can build a squad that can compete next year and win a few games, maybe the long sufferers who could take no more might start to come back.
It's sport! As has been pointed out on another thread KR were on there haunches not that long ago, Wigan were not always top of the pile, widnes could have been written off a few years back.
anybody remember the film "another bloody sunday" that club is still in existence, all be it a small club.

There is loyalty and then there is lemming like behaviour. I am loyal and will support the team whomever they are playing and no matter who is paying those wages. What I won't do is be a quiet supporter who shrugs and says nothing we do will change anything.....
The club has no place to call home. The club has lite in the way of a development program. The club has few assets that would appeal to a new investor and I believe we are all in agreement that we need a new investor........and as much as I am a fan, If I were a potential investor I'd be looking at a passionate fan base as something I could build on.........not a bunch of 200 or so whom roll up and are just grateful that they have something to do on 13 weekends a year.
