Well Nathan Brown has got the boot........how the hell is RP still with us, its not hard DH, just do it.

Looks live Powell will be the last man standing, Sts, Hudds and Bradford have all given the coach the P45, but Powell is fireproof.

This season must be breaking DH's heart (as well as his bank balance). History shows that DH is a very loyal man and he won't find it easy to show RP the door (and admit that he may have been mistaken in his choice of coach).

I'm just very sad for all of us how things have turned out. This debacle of a season won't have done RP's job prospects any good whatsoever.

On a wider note, does anyone agree with me that coaching and player movements shouldn't be announced until the end of the season (or near as dammit)? I think it's very unsettling for all concerned. Seems to have crept into the game over the last few years, in line with the NRL clubs.

Personally, I would hate knowing that my club's star player was leaving whilst I was still watching them (luckily, not likely to be many of our players snapped up by other clubs)

Personally, I'm not sure RP's job prospects are any worse now than before he was appointed head coach. I don't think he would have got a look in anywhere else before or after.

Very harsh words uncalled for imo. This is a bloke that has tried his best here and at SL Storm.

Craig Gower referred to him as a great young coach (as has Brian Mac) but everyone on here is much better qualified to comment, obviously.

Gallows humour is one thing, downright insults are another, imo.

And his best is no where near good enough so he should have done the honourable thing and found a job he was good at instead of hanging in there taking a wage for a substandard performance. As for DH's heart - he chose Powell , he keeps Powell, he wont sack Powell so unfortunatley he has to put up with the consequences, even though he funds the club. DH is an intellegent man and must have his reasons for what he is doing but to fans it is the heartbreaking silence from all quarters of the cub which does not help anyone. Review - what review? It surely must be cheaper to get rid of RP - the club must be losing a fortune, STH are not bringing new fans with them and other ways of attracting fans is not working because of media cover on a monday morning (BBC London) where they comment about another defeat for the Broncos who have not won an away game for two seasons etc etc it is a very negative report. Harsh it may be but as other club coaches will testify - there is no sentiment in business and no matter how much we love RL it is a business. It has to make a profit to survive and with no passion, no excitement and no idea with this coach it is a long hard road to nowwhere.

Still no need to insult the guy. Criticism is one thing, downright insults are another.

Perhaps the insults should be reserved not for the incompetent but the people who tolerated it.

That is not an insult to DH - it is constructive critisism - a world of difference, if you read my posts you will see I have the utmost respect for a man who has kept the club afloat for years however he is not immune and like the rest of us not always right, we are all human. I like a lot of others feel the RP issue has been badly handled, I do not agree with all you say and you hardly ever agree with what I say so lets agree to differ. Its a forum and each and every one of us can have our say and I am pretty sure if it was anything deflamatory or totally hurtful and disresepctful to another person we would quickly be locked out by moderators.

If you read the thread you will see my comment was in response to Cowgirl saying that RP was "under qualified to stack shelves at Asda" to which you then chimed in on.

As you say, we are all entitled to our opinions and mine is that there is no need for comments like those.

Though such comments are so silly as to be hardly worthy of response.

Thing about Tony, he can run the club single-handed....sack everyone else, give Tony a wide job description (Head Coach, Younguns Coach, Head of Pr, CEO, Tea Boy, Hooker) before you know where we are, we can afford Billy Slater.

I think we should give TR a standing ovation, coz he knows it will be all downhill from there, at least on Saturday!
