Leigh are the only chance of anyone going up and that's is 100% down to Wakefield doing a pretty good impersonation of us circa 2013. They put the cue on the rack at 22-0 and fair play to Leigh for coming back, but I suspect that when they meet again in the middle 8 and probable Million pound game, Wakey will have too much for them.
As for Fev and Batley....we've done them both this year and I suspect we'd get 50 stuck on us by Wakefield.

I don't know GF, I think Leigh & Bradford have a real chance, Sheffield... well I dunno'. It's starting to look like if we had recruited properly we could have bounced back, but thats history and we need to start looking at the 3rd 8s and next season!

I would not look into the results too much yesterday. Widnes in 2nd gear and just played very badly, and still won. There is more intensive games in Superleague and once play 7 games i am sure most of the Superleague teams will make it. I only see Leigh with a chance and cup games teams give it all. One off games.

I think the first comment on this thread includes the comment that there will be no promotion as gap is too big.
Leigh have now beaten 2 sl teams, no reason they will not do same in 8s..

I Would have to agree, At best we could just sneak into the eight with no hope of progressing.
Considering the mess the club was or even still is in. It would probably be a mark of success.
It will be a couple more years and an overhaul of the club, before we can realistically challenge for promotion, especially the way it is set up at the moment in the Superleague teams favour.
However things can change and you just never know. The RL will probably change the formula for promotion anyway . Knowing them.

I think we were haemorrhaging fans BEFORE we ended up in the Championship, in fact we'd halved our fanbase BEFORE we left the Stoop!

We should have been e-mailing/writing fans like crazy the second the attendance started going backwards!

Watched Broncos, Bradford and Leigh this weekend. Only team offering entertainment was Broncos. Sadly the final impression from the games was that there are bigger teams that will bully us. I predict Broncos to finish fifth and win some silverware

Leigh v Fev was absolute disgrace. Both clubs should be fined and docked 4 or more points each. Won't happen though.

I'm glad you asked Micky.Cos I don't have clue what he's on about.Fev came with a tactic as most do these days.Fev lost the game and also took their tactics home with them,no doubt to bring them back when we meet again.

Leigh & Fev, what was it - 8 stoppages for players running in to push each other? Ridiculous. I was hoping it would be a good game to finish the weekend and it was dull. Unless you like handbags.
Ref should have binned Hock for the first event and maybe a game would have happened. As it was, everyone decided they needed to show they weren't intimidated and it degenerated.

I watched the Leigh & Fev game on TV. It was really tedious with all the stoppages. I don't mind a bit of a dust up, now and then, but I could not be bothered with it. I turned it over well before the end and watched the cricket. .
Gareth Hock each time he comes onto the pitch, is an accident waiting to happen. He doesn't do his team or the sport any favours.

IMO the ref had no hope. A few players on both sides were just up for a scrap, Hock being the leading culprit but not the only one. It's a great shame that he's degenerated from being a skilful and effective player with a few too many rough edges into just a bunch of rough edges.

It will be interesting to see what the disciplinary makes of it all next week.

If you recall the last time Hock was at The Hive he was sin-binned for starting on the young,taller than average hooker,Cunningham,on dual - reg from Hull FC.( Credit to Cunningham he stood his ground)

Against Featherstone it was the youngster Baldwinson,on loan/dual reg? from Leeds.

I suspect he will start again against one of your youngsters.

It is like watching the grass grow with Leigh,and their 'style of play' is coached so well it appears as natural as grass.
