I think as a club we are in real trouble if we drop as far down to end up playing Swindon!

Chatted to Hendo at Batley and he indicated no one back before June and maybe a need for another body, so I guess we'll see.

Swinton have just knocked Huddersfield out the cup so it might not be as easy as anticipated.

I would still fancy us, against both Swinton and Huddersfield. Huddersfield who appear doomed to play in the middle 8s.

Jossy never suggested it would be easy, just suggesting it "should" be. Don't think any team can be taken for granted, I think we have to win comfortably though if we are serious about pushing for a decent top 8

I await with interest as to the team selection for the Swinton game. Does Hendo stick with the team who did such agood job against Batley. I would not be surprised to see some of the dropped players return.

There is always the temptation to tinker. As you say, a bit harsh on the players who did such a good job over Easter. Can see a few changes though.

A lot depends why players were not playing over easter, was it giving folks chance to recover? Was it dropped because of not performing? Got a feeling a couple will get back in, depends how they are getting on in training though

The players not selected were all dropped, the team hasnt been winning or performing as a team! It was an increadibly bold and brilliant piece of coaching from Hendo dropping high profile players...he picked the same 17 to play twice in 4 days in two of the toughest games and they won both, not only that the performed as a team...they out scored Toulouse and defended 12 sets in first half uphill against Batley and didnt let them score. Only changes will be due to injury... Kear looks to be out for another week.

Like I said Hendo (+ Staff) and players selected deserve huge raps for Easter they have got us back on track for top 4

I wouldn't be surprised if Michael Channing gets his first game since rehab.

Would certainly be an upgrade on Purtell in my opinion.

The Swinton players may have one eye on their Challenge Cup match against Wigan, which is in a couple of weeks. They would be seeking to avoid injuries and disciplinary action, this may have some benefit for us this weekend.

So is this suggesting previously dropped players don't get picked again then?

No comeback yet for Channing or no recall for Purtell.
Guessing it'll be either Garside at right centre or Pearce-Paul moving inside, allowing Dixon to return.

Don't see how Sammut can fit into this 17.....

Tomorrow The Academy game kicks off at noon. Let us get behind the lads by turning up early. They have been playing well and getting some good results too. So please give them your support.

I have to say how well the Academy team played. Jamie Langley has done a really good job with this squad and they showed no fear and put the Hull Combined Academy to the sword , wonderful.
The Under 16s may have lost, but what a performance. They kept up with Leeds right up to the last ten minutes or so and scored some outstanding tries. Leeds just had too much at the end but there was no shame in losing to them.
As a fans we should have real pride in our Academy and U16s. Most of the teams they play have played RL since infancy, most of our lads have just pick the game up over the last few years. Further the parents need praise too, because their commitment is vital, so well done to all.
I would also congratulate the U16s who have been given Academy contracts and give my good wishes and thanks to those who have not.
