Quote ="meliferra"Do you really feel as a Bronco fan that you shouldn't bother to encourage others to go to a match or become supporters? '"
No. But given I have never said that and brought in excess of 100 fans to their first RL game since 2002, you are again painting a picture of me that is inaccurate. Why is that?
Quote ="meliferra"Seems a sad position to take. '"
It would be if I was actually taking it
Quote ="meliferra"The 'supposed' fan bit? How do they become genuine fans? '"
Supposed as in they have patently visited these boards before to get a feeling for my "constant" style of negativity, they have been to games dating back to 2012 but have only just decided to pop in to say hello here. They could be UBER fans for all I care......they post a negative thread about me and some idiots think they must have a valid point
Quote ="meliferra"Smacks a bit of superiority to me.'"
Nah...it's experience of being on these and other forums....I am suspicious of anyone who immediately appears to have a popular opinion in their first few posts.....
Quote ="meliferra"I would have thought you would want Broncos to have a future by growing it's fan base. '"
ASK AROUND........I doubt there is a London fan who wants that more than me!
Quote ="meliferra"Just because The Hive have a budget for marketing does not prevent fans from encouraging more support. The club is only there because the fans want it so it is in the fans interest to encourage as many along as possible to improve the atmosphere for themselves and possibly improve the fortunes on the pitch.'"
We have been there.....we have done that and believe me, I have a grands worth of T-shirts to prove it in my wardrobe. The point isn't about "bringing a mate"...it's more about the club shutting the up about brining a mate and actually marketing the game.
Quote ="meliferra"As someone whose own support is split with 25% refusing to go to a game at the Hive because it's outside Barnet I appreciate every fan who makes an effort to turn up and make a bit of noise. I doubt anybody has enough money to get those people to change their principles. That you have chosen to use the fact that crowds are down due to this and our relegation to use it to bash the Hive is a sad thing for me and I'm not sure it's benefiting your argument choosing to attack the Hive and TK whilst they are still clearly working hard but still finding their feet. I think a fair number appreciate that they are genuine, honest and making the effort that by the sounds of thing wasn't really there before. '"
The Hive holds 5k and averages 1,500 for soccer....I don't give a about Barnet FC as they are also simply a means to an end for the owner.
Quote ="meliferra"As for the OP, I suspect they read the forum a bit before joining. It's what I did. Who knows this thread may have scared them off and it's their only post . '"
Good.....I hope they stay away from this forum, but if my opinion as to the carnage that is the Management is putting them off attending games than I stand by my earlier statement, they need to harden the hell up!
Quote ="meliferra"The reason I think this thread is so long is the concern that someone new is being advised to block one of the best source of information on this forum because they told you that you are being over critical. A fact that you appear to agree with to some extent. Certainly you have a knack of taking every snippet of information and turning it into a negative when us lemmings have a more positive view of it.'"
See my comments about the MUST HAVE POLO SHIRTS
Quote ="meliferra"I guess if you are correct and Broncos is finished (I know you never said it) then I guess Lemmings is a good analogy for us blindly going to watch them.'"
...no, not for watching them or attending games or spending money in the shop/bar......but for doing it with A SMILE ON YOUR FACES!
Quote ="meliferra"For me, I look back 3 months and can't believe Broncos is still an entity for you to criticise. That there is a game this weekend for the Broncos and that all the things you say about the negatives are true but are still on the table and are beginning to be resolved one by one shows that there is a reason to believe Broncos may have a future. No one knows what that future will be but at least it's one that allows fans to go and see their team play. '"
we are 1000/1 to win SL, Wakey are 500/1.........WE ARE ON BORROWED TIME.
Quote ="meliferra"These are not positives or negatives, just the facts as I see them today. '"
they are depressing facts
Quote ="meliferra"Whilst you wont admit it, I sense you are waiting for the current vein of positivity to fail so you can say I told you so, '"
I have had hundreds of opportunities to say that and I never have......that's not why I do what I do. Your failure to see that is down to you not understanding the warnings about this happening that not just me, but many others have presented to the club....none of us are happy about it and I will be more gutted than most when/if it all turns to custard.
Quote ="meliferra"my own view is the more people that get behind it the more chance it has of succeeding.{/quote no Sherlock
Quote ="meliferra"yes I know you will strip this post apart and hyperanalyse it to tell me the finances are screwed, we're all delusional and I'm chosing to ignore the issues but I do genuinely think that Broncos could still be around in two years time and could even be viable as a championship level side with backing behind it to move back to the top table. If anything I guess it's best viewed as the lowest they can go and the only way is up.
As I said in an earlier post the key thing now is to get those tickets available online rather than just by phone and in person, maybe then there will be a reasonable crowd in 2 weeks time.'"
'"
I don't disagree with you or what you say, but it doesn't mean I have to be Ronald mac ing donnald and smile all the time and welcome the new old regime with open arms.
Listen to the Pubcast (see thread on here).....people believe we will go down and they are just thrilled we have a club.....I get it, but I don't welcome it, given we could have been so much stronger if they had learnt from their mistakes earlier.
