You might just hear Saints fans sing 'There's only one Kevin Penny' as he gifted us a try at Knowsley Road I think in 2008 having only just been, shall we say, a tad enthusiastic about celebrating his own try. When I say gifted, he passed straight to a Saints player who legged it down the pitch and scored. I felt sorry for Penny, I must admit, but those more merciless among my fellow fans didn't like his, er, enthusiastic celebrations earlier and so made the most of his mistake. And unless Saints are shocking when they get down there or unless Penny's defence has improved significantly, I can't see fans resisting the temptation to remind Penny of his trip to Knowsley Road. Poor lad!

yep he just goosed Gidley, then Gardner then Wellens for a try you'll never see scored again. even Jonathan Davies on the BBC commentary almost said "Jesus" but just stopped himself in time. as it was that good.


thats correct He knocked on, on his own ten yard line bringing a ball out from his own line gidley picked it up passed to gardner who went ten yards to score in the corner.




and here in lies the problem with Penny, a knock on is dramatised 100 times.... do you you think Bradford fans will live off Amos Roberts' similar mistake for the next 3 season....?



He celebrates his team mates tries just as enthusiastically ....and thats an odd thing for a saints fan to say at the moment as under Potter Many of you are saying the players arent showing the commitment passion and enthusiasm of previous seasons...

Er no. The one I'm thinking of is when he passed it straight into the arms of a Saints player (I can't remember who it was). There is no exaggeration; he passed it straight to us. Had I not felt sorry for the guy at the time I would have found it as hilarious as everyone else did. And the only reason they found it hilarious was because he'd been well OTT with his previous try celebration. That was an invitation for a knock-down if ever there was one.

How many wingers are good defensively?

Defended pretty well tonight. Get the kid signed, it is a long time since we had pace like that out wide. Clubb seemed rejuvenated tonight.

Mostly the ones like Jon Wells, who don't score many tries.

Wells was very sound defensively......as for Penny, get him signed for the rest of the season.

When I heard about it it felt like we'd signed greg inglis. That says a lot about out recent recruitment.

I think the best outcome for all parties would be a season long loan to Quins and assess his performance

In his post match interview it sounded like he was missing his girlfriend & kiddie up north already.

If this is true Id sign him like a shot before any other SL club comes sniffing around. One problem is he might be on a decent contract at Wire and DH may not want to pay it but the numbers he would put on the gate alone would be worth it.
I hope the loan is done on the basis of we have agreed a deal subject to being happy after his 1 month loan spell.
I Wonder if I should get that loft conversion done now. Im sure a young couple and a nipper could fit in

More than a lucky charm. The team has learned to use the first winger we've had in some time with genuine pace. And it was his break from deep in our half that set up the try from Chad Randall that turned the game back in our favour.

You seem to have an embarassment of riches up there. Why not let him sdtay here?

Personally i want him back but i don't think [isome [/ifans and TS sees a future for him
