A clear identifiable brand is important to all businesses. Particularly a sports brand. 'Harlequins RL' is the opposite of that. It's a marketing man's nightmare and the sooner we ditch Harlequins the better as far as Im concerned. London anything is fine. London RLFC is 100 times better for a start.

So would I. A short bus ride to home games on the 363 - plenty of space for a purpose built London RLHQ on Peckham Rye. Marvellous!

London. whilst not a brand, is an identifier.....in that it gives the club a sense of belonging. Nomads would refer to our various grounds over the years.

I see no problem with Harlequins Rugby League. The fact is that our name is about 1% of the problem...anyone who believes that League fans stay away in their thousands because of a union tie-in needs to see a specialist. I do believe the kit should reflect a league heritage and maybe have a chevron of the club colours, but all in all, being Quins RL is good for the club. We play in a good stadium, have excellent training and medical fascilities available to us and next year will start our 6th season at a place we can now call home.
The problem for the club is not the name.....nor the location, nor any other excuse that people want to come up with......the problem is........well, you know what I think the problem is

Mate..I get tired of it too......but some people think if we changed our name and moved to a purpose built stadium in the middle of London we'd sell 25,000 season tickets straight away.....and what's really annoying is the attitude of some fans that everything is OK since DH got the RFL to sort out the shares issue......when in reality we have a below average team with no coach, very limited funds and the same average gates we wre getting in 2000......

They obviously wouldn't sell 25,000 tickets straight away, but it would be a hell of a lot easier to market and increase attendances with a new location and identity. With all due respect I don't think the best marketing man in the world could do much with 'Harlequins RL' based at The Stoop.

Ah well, looks like the honeymoon period is over following David Hughes announcement.......we ALL know what the issues are (christ we have been told enough times and contrary to your comment very few think everything is ok), but rather than wait to see what the club come up with let`s just keep on rolling out the same message week after week after week.........

The club are selecting a new manager, so any new signings prior to that announcement are unlikely. The RFL have reportedly agreed to work with us in promoting and developing the game down south.....but I doubt any announcement will be made on this front before the 2009-10 season is over (if ever), so let`s just see how things unfold in the coming week`s/month`s before making judgement.

The originality of a rugby club in London called Quins/Harlequins astounds me! So 'unique' as you put it. And yes I am blind, these braille PC screens are exceptional these days.

And London RLFC has just caused my originality detector to go off the scale.

Barely anyone pays attention to the RL bit though do they? There have already been reports of school kids thinking it stands for 'Rugby Lessons'.

We all know that in London if you say to anyone you at off to watch quins they think of the RU team.

Union fans who like league but dont support Quins Ru in the most will not attend games.

At the bare min the team should be called London Quins RLFC

People are tribal imagine if St Helens changed to Everton rl, i'm sure that would put off all the people who don't like Everton.

Not the clubs fault that the the education standards in South West London are so poor.

Funny how people can differentiate between Manchester United and Manchester City but people in the South are apparently unable to detect the letters RL or know what they mean.
