what do you mean "getting"
IF the club are thinking about relocation, why not get these guys involved. Bound to get some coverage
Well Phil, I think I may have cacked it this time.
What makes you think that Kirsty?
The next venue is close to thousands of Rugby League fans?
Really Kirsty...where is it?
Wigan!

| It would be interesting to hear where(if you have to), would you prefer to re locate too?
As an outsider QPR would be ok as it's near the Earls court area, possible Aussie/NZ interest?, but i wouldn't profess to know how that could work for you guys.
One thing is for sure, I like my trips to the Capital and wish you success.

The Aussies in London really don't think too much of Super League. They turn up when a team with quality Aussies (ie Warrington) turn up, but they have little interest in Quins and the SL in general.

| James Lowe for our new coach it is being rumoured, hope not! as again I am unsure he is a coach, just an assistant, it is being said Francis Cummins to Wire as Assistant.

| You don't have to use your imagination to discover how James Lowes will fair as a head coach.
If he couldn't get Warrington winning, there's no chance with us.

Many major RL Clubs do though, St Helens are proud to claim an average attendance of 11,000, take away the Wigan and Warrington supporters that travel to Knowsley Road for the derby games and Leeds fans and that average may be much closer to 9,000!

It is terrible business practice to rely on away fans. Wigan and Hull FC specifically target our games at theirs as a time to try to get more new fans into their grounds. This is the way forward. 2 of the top attendance averaging teams showing the rest of the league how it should be done.
I seem to remember boss hogg saying at a forum that quins were only going to target the big games........this is/was madness IMO. If you only try to attract fans NEW to the games , then target the ones where we have a chance of winning or it being a close game. It's not an exact science, but Salford, Catalans, Castleford (when we aren't hamstrung by the RFL naughty chair), HKR, Wakey, Hull FC, these are the games we should target.
Leeds, Wigan. Saints, Bradford...these are the teams with the traditionally bigger crowds in London. By all means promote them, but don't be stunned when we get 0% return.
Example.
St Helens average at the stoop is 5,277. Next year, does anyone want to hazzard a guess at the gate for this game. I'd say around the 4,500 mark. IF the club do have the marketing spend of the northern clubs, why pay money to market a game we know will be in the top 3 attendances of the season? Saints will always draw london based Saints fans....always has done and if the club want to spend money on this game, then FFS, try to identify these ex-pat fans and take down their contact details..AND F()CKING MARKET TO THEM!
Now...Salford. 2,682 average at the Stoop......and if you don't market it, it won't get any bigger than that. So market it, attract new fans to what should be a closer game than St Helens.....if we win, then the atmosphere in the Kings afterwards is better...more chance of repeat business.
I took a friend and his son to the Leeds game at Griffin park...the game we drew when botham kicked the conversion from the touchline (it gets further out every year...next year it will be from row c in the new road stand )....my mate loved it, but to this day, curses me, because his son started nagging him about going back to watch league and lost all interest in his Fulham Season Ticket. This is not the norm and neither was the result of that game, but neither is it unique. But, to have a chance of getting that "first game buzz" going, you need to get people to games where it might happen....and I'd back a result/close game v Salford over Leeds/Wigan/Saints any day of the week.

| Why dont Quins employ a "head hunter" and go and seek interested parties to take over the club like they do in football.

You mean like the RFL do for the Championship clubs , they are willing to provide funds for them to employ somebody to find corporate support as long as it is new , over and above what a club already has
Problem being that nobody is interested in chucking money into clubs that cannot move any higher than the comp they are in
Bit of a waste really

The cheeky sods. Last time we asked for an increase in the weekly 50,000 pound backhanders we get from them they said they couldn't afford it....now we find out they are wasting money on Northern Clubs ....it's a fkn liberty

The impression I get is they haven't- Im sure DH has asked around his business world but it makes you wonder if they have gone to private industry in general.
Losing money is what they do in soccer but that doesnt stop big players buying up clubs.
I think without another investor the future isnt that great

| Quote ="Wire_Yed"Well if they have to move Underhill is perfect, it's on the Northern Line (most northerners arrive at Euston/Kings Cross) plus the eurostar lot of Catalan.
It's just of the M25
Capacity is 6,200 which for your crowd currently would make it a logical choice.
plus the best thing
It's 10 mins walk from my house
'"
10 minutes for me as well. It also has a 8 foot slope and under 2000 seating capacity. I doubt very much the pitch is big enough for RL with and ingoal area. The total capacity is nothing like 6,200. We've been given dispensation from the football league for years due to the ongoing struggle with the council over a new ground, and the state of the current ground would be enough to reprieve Castleford or Wakefield (although I do prefer it over the generic lego stadia of the type that would replace it). Apart from all that it's perfect!

Warrington, Wigan and Leeds take a combined total of 26,000 fans to Knowsley Road?

| Just seen on Quins website that they are advertising for a casual coach for Quins Foundation starting Sep 2010.
Maybe this signals there is going to be a future at Quins.
