| Forgive my ignorance but I have done no research on this, but are the Union supporters [home and away also being charged extra for having a League game to watch?

| The £25 is the usual price for a Union ticket.

As others have said I have paid £24 for a stand ticket at Knowsley Road, then you struggle to look through a glass window at the end of the stand which has never been cleaned! - talking about unwashed, I was born in St Helens!

I think you are missing the point.
Can you answer this then please.
Why are Saints supporters expected to pay £10 more than supporters from other clubs for the same facilities?
The "double header" is no excuse when we only want to see the RL game.
Would you want Saints to charge £10 more for you to visit than they charge other clubs?

Why do you think that Quins fans will know the answer to your questions? Shouldn't you be emailing Quins RL instead of giving fans earrache when they may be just as in the dark as you about it?
It's so embarrassing to read the way some Saints fans have reacted to this, with storming off in a huff and cancelling hotels and God knows what. I thought the idea was to support Saints not get on the backs of Quins fans over something they have no say in?
I'm still going, no matter what the price. And because I'm going on a club coach I won't arrive in time for the RU match anyway. So what I'm effectively doing is paying the equivalent of sitting on one of our hideously uncomfortable wooden seats in a dump of a ground and for that price I'm going to a much nicer ground with friendly home fans and supporting my team. I'm doing the trip in one day.

Well I'm glad you don't mind paying more than the price quoted on the Quins official site we personally travel hundreds of miles supporting Saints and spend a considerable amount of money doing so, but I do not expect to pay more than the listed price for any game.
would you buy something in a shop that was ticketed at £10 and when you got to the till it was £20? I know I wouldn't.
As for running down the ground of the team you say you support (although from other posts it is obvious you would rather be with Quins or Crusaders!!) then why don't you attend a club that has facilities that you consider comfortable.
KR may be old and tired but at least it is ours and not owned by club from another sport like Quins , Crusaders and a few others and our new stadium will be for Rugby League.
As for posting on here I cannot find an Email address for Quins RL but will be contacting them.

| I have just had a lengthy conversation with a lady at Quins who said "Harlequins are an all inclusive Rugby league and union club and the majority of fans realise that this is fantastic value for money, there is no way we would consider reducing the price because it is your choice to watch or not watch both games in fact it is not a Rugby League game but a days event"
When I pointed out people might choose not to attend because of the price she said "It was bad that people called Rugby Union kick and Clap" and they should enjoy both games.

Pretty much what I got, they won't drop the price, if league fans don't want the tickets then they'll sell them to union fans, don't like it then tough was the attitude on the phone.

She actually said "Harlequins are very proud that our supporters support both Union and League and the majority think that these tickets are fantastic value for money"

which is true in the respect that the majority will be Union supporters who appear to pay that price every week, so in effect they are getting a free RL game.
Anybody remember how they worked it out for the Huddersfield double header?

You know something? There is no way I could afford an overnight stay in a hotel down south (or indeed up north). Yet I am not whinging about this. You, however, clearly [ican[/i afford to spend a night in a hotel but [iare[/i whinging! I bet if Wigan charged you £10 more than Leeds fans with no justification for a visit to the JJB you would be up in arms.

If Wigan did anything, we'd be up in arms! Just going to their place and paying a penny into their coffers means arms are guaranteed to be up! Besides, we often have to pay more at away games. Wakey charges £1 more than Saints and their ground is possibly even worse than ours.
But when one of our lot can clearly afford to stay in a hotel but whines and whinges about paying an extra fiver because of a local arrangement made by another club it is plain embarrassing. Most Saints fans won't give a toss and hopefully people on the London end won't take what has been said by the few on here as representative of the silent many.

It's the principle of it, and I do not blame Saints fans for being annoyed about it. I can afford to stay in a hotel for your games, it doesn't mean I would be happy to pay £50 to get into your ground.
There seems to be plenty of Saints fans who do give a toss already, in fact you seem to be one of the only people desperately defending it.

Spot on.
If we forced people to pay £25.00 for a Wigan/Latics double header then RLFANS would go into meltdown, especially on Red Vee.

For once we agree.
And also, don't forget that although we get poor gates, there are plenty of home supporters who are being forced into paying an extra £10 to watch their team. Smart move. I wonder if St Helens supporters would be fine with a St Helens/Sale double header.

| I can see the point that the original poster is making and have some sympathy, but isn`t the argument getting a bit OTT. Quins RL cannot do anything about it as we are just tenants at an RU ground, as has been pointed out oh so many times by fans of other clubs. If it makes the away fans feel any better, Quins RL fans who are not season ticket holders are also expected to cough up the extra.
No point in comparing the `matchday experience` or facilities/entertainment available at each grounds as this argument falls on deaf ears.
Sorry to say that this thread like so many others has just degenerated into a `Let`s have another dig at Quins RL`...........for those Saints fans that do decide to attend......sorry about the extra expense but there is naff all we can do about it and I hope you enjoy the day.
Jesus.....even the Quins RU fans are having a go at us now on their message boards about our crowd numbers!!.....if they were to put a toe in the water, give the RL side a chance and attend a match or two, perhaps we would not be in the position we find ourselves.......AAArrrrrggghhhhhhhhh

| So what's happened is that the Union club, under the fake guise of "Rugby United", have taken control of our match-day and Quins RL are being forced to comply. I'm afraid that the partnership type agreement under which we first moved to The Stoop is dead and buried.
Arguments about value for money at Saints ground have nothing at all to do with this.

| Is this debate or whinging from Saints fans now getting a little Over The Top? it is £24 for a good seat in the stand at Knowsley Road, just £1 cheaper? - again we Quins RL have handled the situation badly, just wait for next weeks rugby press letter pages!
