Was working on the Tup for the rearranged Catalans game - they said they would put a BBQ on if enough were going. As I am now going to the game anyone else care to run with this or are you going to use this new ruba a dub.

This is great, yes in a city the size of London we need a few spread out) but this is local gives us a focal point and more importantly will help spread the word. I for one will be making my way along .... never ever touch free nibbles though

| I think another opportunity the club are missing out on, is the "Webb Elliss" (Weatherspoons Pub) in Twickenham.
On our matchdays, I have been asked by punters in the pub on several occasions, what match the Quins were playing as they didn't realise that there was rugby at the Stoop on that day.
I explained to them that it was Rugby league, so why not come down & give it a try & a few of them have.
When I have used the pub on Quins Union game days, the bar staff all wear Harlequins Team shirts to help promote the event.
I asked the Manageress on one of these days if the staff would be willing to wear our Rugby League Team Shirts on our home game days & she said that they would have no problem if the club donated them some shirts, but found out the sizes first, as the female staff all had to wear Large Size shirts irrespective of the persons size.
Just an idea, don't know if it will be of any help?

I thought this when in the pub the other day. It would be good if we could get a corner of the pub or something along those lines. The staff (they seem to have a high turnover there) always ask me too.
Also, I thought we missed a bit of a trick yesterday - handing out flyers for the match to the literally hundreads of Lions supporters, for £5 tickets would have been a winner IMO.

| Are there any pubs in central London that cater for league? It would be great for there to be somewhere central for the mildly curious, ex-pat Aussies and relocated northerners to go meet up and chat about league.
Twickers is a bit of an effort to get to, it would be grand if there was somewhere on the tube map...

The idea of this thread was to get ideas to forward to the club, not lambast them over past failures....of which we all know there are/were many.'"
sorry
I had an idea for a marketing campaign if somebody's good with computer design (that means you Steve @ Code 13 ). We seem to struggle to appeal to all of our target audiences all together (londoners, aussies and northerners in London). But an ad with say 5 or 6 pics of our players (either mug shots or in action) in individual boxes in a line with their name and home-town underneath it. Eg Tony Clubb, born Gravesend (or wherever!).....Louie Mcarthy Scarsbrook, born Isle of Dogs, London, Danny Orr born Castleford, W Yorks, Luke Dorn, Born ?, Australia etc. And a slogan above of Harlequins Rugby League London's team - Your team. Or something simlar/better. Would show that we're a serious club representing all RL fans and it can be weighted toward the London players to give us more local credibililty. Not sure what it would cost to put in papers, TNT etc. though.
