I even thought the fans had more about them today, your drummer is rubbish but he's a loud sod.
More promising all around but at the end still a loss, albeit a guns blazing rather than a capitulation.
Lastly, there was a drunk bloke sat in front of me with a pair of underpants on his head...WTF! and i thought Cas fans were weird.'"
Excuse me sir, pants certainly but drunk not. It would have helped because rob13s post is spot on and you need to be anaesthetised to watch that lot.
Typified by having an attacking scrum with about 6 to go and we didn't rush to get the clock stopped.
As for Elrick and his drum, if he tries that again it is being inserted into his anatomy through a certain passage (linked to pants) sideways!

| I thought that was a great effort - energy and enthusiasm, almost as if they'd had a psychologist in between Saturday and last night. Different attitude from the players.
And another poor show from the ref.
However, that question about consistency to Rea was telling. He paused and then couldn't and wouldn't answer it before descending into that bland non-speak stuff.

| Lot better performance last night, Luke Dorn raised his game and gave everything along with Jamie Soward. It was only basic rugby, and slow, but at least better. Some strong running from Kafusi! Tackling and defence were much better.
There,is no doubt that Leeds are well drilled, but I thought at times, too clinical, the same tactic nearly every time, dummy player, after dummy player.
Just wish we would get a better rub of the green, and that many referees would at least be equal to both sides, at least protect players from high tackles! What annoys me with some referees is they look so weak, they seem to have no authority, players looked up to such as Clay & Naughton, they came over as an authoritative figure all the time! Roby stood in some weird positions at times, so far away from the ball, no wonder he could not see forward passes.
Still no clearer what our plans are for next season, as we see player after player tell us they are leaving. Are we recruiting? if so, it should not be Rea, he has to go! Just watched the game on TV which I recorded and someone like Shaun McCrea was so on the ball about us.

| Well I have to say I quite enjoyed my first Broncos game. I suppose from reading posts on here and about crowds in SL in general I had fairly low expectations but the people who were there were pretty vocal and the players can't complain about the support they had taken the pitch and coming off at half-time.
In terms of the performance, the first try was pretty soft but they defended kicks pretty well after that (or did enough to put Leeds off). One or two out defence is fairly solid but it seemed to be when Leeds went wide they had more joy - more space and the one-on-one tackling was not so good. It seemed as the game went on Leeds had more territory so by the 5th tackle they were looking at grubbers/chips to the in-goal area whereas we were having to kick long for territory. Soward is pure class though - that chip and chase where offloaded to the young lad was nicely done. Shame about the kid fumbling but I thought he otherwise showed up pretty well, made a few metres in contact and kept going.
Now to the ref. He seemed to miss countless forward passes! Being a newbie maybe I'm not used to it but if the ref is constantly 10m away "reffing" (use the term loosely) the offside line, then how can he see whether a pass is forward or not from the play-the-ball. It's clearly how you have to ref League but if you're not up with the ball you'll miss those marginal calls all day long. Maybe his touch judges should help him out a bit more.
Overall I enjoyed it - would like to think that kind of performance could be a baseline to improve but it sounds like inconsistency is a huge problem so maybe I got lucky on a day when we were more up than down!

| Glad that you enjoyed your first game Mooro, just hope we continue in Super League and you become a loyal fan.
Why when referee Roby could not hear the video ref on his earphones, did Ganson not put the decision on the screen.
Just read on the Daily Mail, Leeds fans saying what a great game Roby had as referee compared to such as Childes and Thailer, what a Joke!

| A creditable showing and a marked improvement on saturday - I think that's all we could expect given we were playing Leeds, who hardly got out of first gear.
Impressed by Soward and Kaufusi. Sarginson had his best game in a while. We had enough of the ball to make it a competetive game and I think we wasted enough possession when we could have made it even closer.

| Big, and unexpected, improvement from all concerned. Maybe one or two players trying t put themselves in the shop window after the disaster of Saturday (and the whole season)?
Agree about some of the fans celebrating though. Shows how far we've fallen.

| Great turn out by the Leeds fans btw, they brought more than most do at the weekend. I cheered the players off because it was some effort in those temperatures. The players are not the cause of the problem but the symptom. The culture of the club starts from the top, a fish rots from the head.

I think there's some merit in clapping the players off after that display. Let's face it their confidence was probably shot to pieces after the Wigan game. The general response from our fans was to say keep your heads up, you're better than that, keep going. I think that's a positive message.
FWIW I hold the club management far more responsible for our current woes than individual players.

| Think the lads put in a good shift last night - from my vantage point in the armchair. Leeds never got into a high gear, did what they had to do but yes, it's a plus not getting hammered. This season is an official disaster zone so you've got to take whatever small pleasures you can. What was with Kaufusi last night? Where's he been hiding? And that little chip and run from Soward, great stuff - shame it resulted in nowt.
Was that Mark, tipping Guru, Rammond waving his beer about in shirt and tie? As for the drum....think he needs to get something with a bit more oomf, that one sounded like someone banging against corrugated iron

Very poor at keeping Leeds onside, and he turned a blind eye to far too many headshots against London players. I can see the benefit of having 2 referees like in the NRL if it cleans up this sort of thing, but there's nothing you can do when a referee simply ignores foul or dangerous play.

| Obviously a better display in the heat (Heathrow's max was 34.2C or 93.5 for us old b*gg*rs, the highest temperature recorded in the UK for 10 years), but still not good enough. I suspect that with the heat Leeds decided just to do enough to win, except for Rob Burrow - SL's version of the Road Runner!

| Leeds didn't play well at all last night, maybe because of the heat or complacency, who knows? Their concentration levels weren't up, that was obvious. I like Rob Burrow but thought that performance was overrated, covered many metres, evaded many tackles but achieved not a lot, compared with McShane for example.
As for our players, I didn't applaud them off because I wasn't there, but if I had been I would have applauded all except these 8:
4. David Howell
5. Michael Robertson
6. Michael Witt
9. Chad Randall
11. Shane Rodney
12. Chris Bailey
13. Tony Clubb
21. Kieran Dixon.
Quite a missing list. With the possible exception of Howell, all would have played, if fit.
I wouldn't have applauded Roby or Ganson either,
or Mackay.

Indded. I thought that some of the high tackles made by Leeds were far, far worse than the one we got penalised for in the Wigan game, chuck in him missing a fair few forward passes and I'm wondering what was the point of Roby being out there at all. A t least if there were 2 refs one of them would be functioning as something other than a spectator!

| I think there was a FULL set midway through the second half, Dorn collected the ball on his own line, where no forward took a drive, all the backs ran it in up to about the 40m line, i can't remember for the life of me the last time i saw that.
