Is Clubby that good?

Average player at best who i guess has an agent telling him how wonderful he is.
You really have to wonder how he is captain if he doesn't even want to play for the club. Make him see out last year of his contract and send him on loan to Hemel.

Trouble now is even if he got back to his best form he seems to be very injury prone - I would be very surprised if one of the big clubs came in for him bearing that in mind. He might be our skipper but I don't think he'd be the greatest loss for us, must be earning a reasonable whack of our salary cap so that money could be put to good use if he get the release he wants.

I do like Clubb, think he's one of our better players. But he can't seem to stay fit, can't see any 'big' club signing him due to this.

We need everyone pulling in the same direction for the rest of the season...every point must be fought for, and we shouldn't see the semi-final as already lost.

But if the captain doesn't want to be here, how does that motivate the team?

If we get to Wembley, I'd drop him. Then he can see 'his' team lift a trophy while he bleats about needing to be in big games.

As I posted in another thread got it from a credible source at Esher game, ie his dad clubb wants to be gone from London as our only England capped player he is miffed at the pay he is getting compared to some other quote younger unquote players

Pitiful. It was embarrassing enough watching his interview on Sky last week.

Dont blame him to be honest considering all the uncertainty surrounding our club. If he can get a long contarct somewhere good luck to him. He`s been a decent servant for us.

Agree with that, but it's vital at the moment that anyone that doesn't want to be here is dropped in case it upsets the build up to the cup and trying not to finish bottom.

Is it our captain's curse? When they are made captain they just want to leave. It says a lot really! Why not just put it on the website " We are cra@p - our captain says so" LOL

Always rated Tony, but this has lost all respect, it was completely wrong to make the comments he did the day before the semi-final, but to come out once more is unbelievable.

It goes without saying that the captain's arm band should be withdrawn, I presume he is out of contract? If we did not have the injury crisis I would release him now. I can understand his feelings, if it is true, but you just don't come out publically. I understand St Helens have been monitoring him for a while.

Absolutely pathetic- strip the captaincy and release him if possible, otherwise bench.

If you're "sick of losing" then it's time to step up and take some accountability to help motivate the team towards a few wins- that should go without saying for any veteran player, never mind the captain.

Completely agree, I was unsure when his contract finished, if St Helens or anyone else wants him, let them put their hands in their pocket, we are not a registered charity, to produce players for Northern Clubs!

I walk out of nearly all of our games embarrassed but there's sod all I can do about it on the pitch, he is meant to be in a position of influence as one of our more senior players. Echo most thoughts on here, absolutely disgraceful, unprofessional comments and I wouldn't want to see him wear the shirt again.
