because as we all know, the website is 100% responsible for attracting fans to games and also contributes to the teams performance on the park as well



I get the impression that even if the club were to have a website that was 100% functional and informative, as well as being able to make every visitor a "nice cup of tea"....some on here would find fault with it.

Our websites e I want us to have a good one. I don't think you need to read anything else into it.

You gotta give them credit, The Skolars, unlike a lot of hoo harr on previous years, they have really improved the webpage, looks good and better info all round, looks like they rebranded everything and keep everyone in the loop, unlike the midnight cowboys in charge, who may like us dangling awaiting trumpets and lions and mass press histeria, when we finally cough, splurt, awake in too "cyber Space",

FFS, it is well documented that the Londonbroncosrl.com website is pants and that it is pretty disgraceful that after 4 months, it is still a beta site, but to state the obvious, as you have a knack for doing, it really isn't a major issue in the state of things.
Shirt Sponsors and numbers of fans, both revenue streams BTW, are far more important than a website that will be lucky to get 500 unique visits a month and will generate not a brass farthing.

As for light hearted.......not a chance given the mood of certain posters on this site since Septembers announcement......

The club are really happy since we launched the new site some time ago now, really does have a big impact on fans/players/sponsors along with the club staff so they can be proud of what they have.

Total bollox and you know it, the web presence is vital not least to keep the current customers engaged, not to mention all associated with the club, and more importantly we have just relaunched the brand, remember? so any drifters or new tyre kickers looking to get a feel with see "that" as their first experience, and won't they be impressed.

You make it sound like in the scale of priorities the club are capable of doing one task at a time and incapable of getting more than one project out to market at the same time, anybody with a quarter of brain cell and a copy of webplus could have done better than that in 5 evenings, as for brass farthings, does e-commerce not enter the scope anymore?

- player profiles
- hospitality spec and brochure
- news
- club shop
- contact details
- sponsorship details

aren't important? You should tell all those premiership football clubs that they're wasting their time.

All of which could be done on the current site.

Not wanting to knock anything Skolars do or are doing as I want to see them succeed, but has it brought them huge success off the field? as many of us keep saying you can have the Best singing and dancing web site but if the product on the pitch is not right it is worth nothing.

Lets wait and see what the launch brings at the end of next week.

I do like the New home and away London Skolars strips, no shortage of sponsors? I see they have a different for away, this is something I suggested we should look at aiming more for the Northern market.

Really? All 750-1,250 of them? The club have a beta site that is basic and will do its job until the 27th when the new all singing all dancing site will be there for the masses. Again, I am not saying it is any way acceptable to still have a beta site up and running after 4 months, but it isn't a disaster. Emails, twitter and the book of faces have all been used, just not enough for some people.

I suspect that the few back office staff left are having to prioritise tasks.......given that the same company as before are managing the on-line issues, I would hazzard a guess that the delay has more to do with finance than anything else......

..or steve at Code 13 as I suggested months ago.......I suspect there was a term contract in place with Sotic that couldn't be ended without consequence....just guessing though.

I can only guess, but I doubt the website of Harlequins Rugby League circa 2005-2011 generated 5% of the ticket and merchandise revenue taken over the phone, at the turnstyles or in the shop......in fact, I'd say it wouldn't have even contributed 2.5%

Bottom line is that the club are paying heed to what is being said on here and elsewhere. I have repeatedly suggested that any existing or returning fan who has something to say or suggest contacts Gus and the club directly, but rather than do that, certain people are happy to continue to post snide remarks about anything from "their percieved late arrival of Season tickets" to the colours chosen by the club.

I repeat, for the umpteenth time...it is shocking that the web site isn't up and ready, but it is not a game changer either......

There are umpteen reasons why the website needs to be professional - everyone knows them.

Most importantly for a rebranded club looking to recruit business partners, I would expect it to be the first place a potential sponsor would look.

but according to Gutterfax there are no sponsors interested - so why bother?

As has already been demonstrated it's hard enough to convince barbecue-loving speedway fans to commit to RL never mind fans of proper sports with established teams.

The other problem is that the sport in general doesn't attract the biggest following. Put it another way were only getting about a fifth of the crowds the national side gets when it plays anywhere bar wembley.

The sport is in dire straits and needs a serious overhaul.
