| Quote ="philipk"Hi Jaybs
first of all i have the greatest respect for everyone at London Broncos
im always happy to give Credit and the broncos get top marks for their 2nd half, if you want to draw a similar analogy between Salfords 2nd half and the broncos first 40 then that would be pretty close to the mark and im sure on the 2nd half the reds would have struggled with the top champ sides
strange old game. dont recall seeing a game where 62 consecutive points have been scored all at one end of the park but spread across 70 mins'"
Respect that you are willing to accept in the second half performance, Salford were as bad as London were in the first! Thanks John

| It was a crazy game yesterday.
Salford should have been out of sight at half time with a 30 point lead. They were not dominant in the forwards at any point in the game but their great centres and wingers absolutely tore us to shreds whenever they got the ball and scored off pretty much every attack. Only poor kicking kept the margin down.
In the second half the Salford forwards seemed very tired early in the second half and simply played 'one up' Rugby with almost no circulation of the ball. That didn't work.
I think their supporters who wanted to break through on the half way line got closer to our try line than their team did in the second forty.
It seemed that their supporters wanted to be deliberately belligerent by invading the home end when they would have had their run of the almost empty stand opposite.
They seemed to start off by arguing amongst themselves, then the home fans, then with their coaching staff and finally with their own players. This provocative behaviour extended to the corporate sections as well as at the front of the stands with some very rotund ladies being particularly aggressive.
They certainly caught an ear full back from the home supporters and I think it created a cracking atmosphere with no real harm done though I dare say the library/theatre brigade might not have enjoyed the company of these partizan supporters.
I thought the second half reminded me of Any Given Sunday.
We fought like lions for the ball and I was very proud.
Cheers
Rammo
PS Here is the section I'm referring too
[i
I don't know what to say, really. Three minutes to the biggest battle of our professional lives. All comes down to today, and either, we heal as a team, or we're gonna crumble. Inch by inch, play by play. Until we're finished. We're in hell right now, gentlemen. Believe me. And, we can stay here, get the kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time. Now I can't do it for ya, I'm too old. I look around, I see these young faces and I think, I mean, I've made every wrong choice a middle-aged man can make. I, uh, I've ed away all my money, believe it or not. I chased off anyone who's ever loved me. And lately, I can't even stand the face I see in the mirror. You know, when you get old, in life, things get taken from you. I mean, that's... that's... that's a part of life. But, you only learn that when you start losin' stuff. You find out life's this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game - life or football - the margin for error is so small. I mean, one half a step too late or too early and you don't quite make it. One half second too slow, too fast and you don't quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break of the game, every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone else around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when add up all those inches, that's gonna make the ing difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying! I'll tell you this, in any fight it's the guy whose willing to die whose gonna win that inch. And I know, if I'm gonna have any life anymore it's because I'm still willing to fight and die for that inch, because that's what living is, the six inches in front of your face. Now I can't make you do it. You've got to look at the guy next to you, look into his eyes. Now I think ya going to see a guy who will go that inch with you. Your gonna see a guy who will sacrifice himself for this team, because he knows when it comes down to it your gonna do the same for him. That's a team, gentlemen, and either, we heal, now, as a team, or we will die as individuals. That's football guys, that's all it is. Now, what are you gonna do? [/i

No your right i dont think there were any shirts with Selco on them although i was looking more at the leisure range so there may have been some. Some good items in now like jogging bottoms, polo shirts, shorts etc. plus the rain jackets, coats and other stuff that went out of stock fast are now all back on the shelfs.
Dont know about the season ticket discount mate as im not one, but with more games like this i could well be.

| Wish they would update the website club shop with items, it is saying polo shirts out of stock and only showing the light blue strip?
Just trust we will always put Rugby League on the logo, again yesterday out shopping someone asked was it a basketball team.

Surely that's an oppotunity to explain a bit about the club that you might not otherwise have had. When I was in the US earlier this year I lost count of the number of people who asked about the logo becuase it was one they had not seen before (including the guys checking my passport both in and out !!).

Of course you can always look at it that way no doubt, but I'm Proud to state to everyone who looks at it and may not ask that it is a Rugby League Club in the Capital of the UK London.

Fantastic comeback. That's going to be one of those games everyone remembers for years to come, like the 36-36 draw with Leeds in 2004.
It was amazing how Salford fell to pieces after looking fairly efficient for the first half. I know they were struggling for decent half backs, so perhaps they didn't have anyone capable of wresting back the momentum once we got on top, but they seemed to cause us all sorts of defensive problems with their passing and movement in wide areas in the first half.
I'd love to have been a fly on the wall in our dressing room at half time. I thought Rinaldi was outstanding in the second half. He seems to have that knack of adding a new dimension to our attacking play by coming off the bench and not really playing in an orthodox single position, a bit like Stanley Gene often used to when playing against us for various clubs. That was only my third game of the season, but Dixon looks a tremendous prospect while Gower is clearly a class act, although in the other games I saw (against Widnes and Leeds) I thought we seemed far too reliant on him to orchestrate our attacking play.
I wasn't going to come back this year after the Leeds debacle, but the change of coach persuaded me to make the effort. For the first half we looked like we were carrying on where we left off in that match, but it was well worth it in the end. The way the players' improved performance began to lift the crowd was superb. It was all much more enjoyable and exciting than a comfortable sixty point win!
Wasn't that ref the touch judge from the Castleford game a couple of years back, who signalled an absurd try against us when their player (Ferres?) dropped the ball as Clubb(?) appeared from nowhere to shunt him into touch?
And as for the record 22 points turnaround - maybe my memory is playing tricks but I'm sure we blew a 22-0 lead against Bradford at Griffin Park in 2005. I found a stats page for that game but it doesn't give the scoring sequence so I can't be certain:

Yup. Already mentioned somewhere on here.
I think that Clubb may be due before the beaks for his very late "tackle" on a Salford player who'd lost the ball and was already on the ground.

| Disappointed to have missed this one but was put off by the prospect of the trains to Clapham being even more crowded than usual. Judging by the crowd size many others were too.

So you could not be bothered then, but feel it necessary to comment on the crowd.
Team under performing all season and we sit at the foot of the table. Olympic programme in full swing..........go figure.
What were you expecting, a bumper turnout......I give up.
We won by the way.

| as for the Salford fans....what a set of windowlickers that lot were who decided to decamp in the 2nd half. It was blatantly obvious that the row they moved into was solely occupied with folks with tiny tots and pushchairs etc but it was eff this and eff that and let's just stand right in front of people sitting there, drinking your beer and effing off. Bunch of effing morons I shouldnt slag them too much though as it was blatantly obvious that the overwhelming majority of them were borderline special needs but that doesnt excuse their pig headed ignorance.. Also after I'd moved away from them I was treated to the way the stragglers spoke to the steward who was telling them to walk through the exit of the stand rather than push through the temporary fencing. Special mentions also to the one who took umbrage at my son playing with a football rather than a rugby ball and the one who gave me the evils for taking the out of him by talking with a northern accent when errrr, I am northern.
Even though I missed all the late tries it's nice to know they came all that way just to lose. Ha ha harrrr deee harrrrr

Haven't looked at the highlights yet, but at the match, Salford made a point of targetting the blind side (Caro's wing) for 2 of their early tries (nos. 2 and 3 I think) so that we were outnumbered there. We were let down by poor defensive organisation - for the first of those tries it was obvious they were going that way when Patten's shiny head moved out towards the wing after the 5th tackle but we didn't pick up what they were going to do.

| For the first try they targeted O'C who was fended off on a simple one on one thus requiring the winger to come in freeing up there winger to break our line once he received the offload.
It really is the story of the season. Woefully inadequate defending in the centres/wingers positions. Every decent coach would attack us there. In the main they have and come away with the goods.

Days like Saturday remind you why we stick with it.
None of us will get carried away but just hope team has got some confidence back.
Well done Broncos.

The Jubilee line was sardines both ways but at least the mood was better than the usual Mon to Frid commuter trains as obviously most seemed to be Olympic bound.
