Not the reason he left. Odd how you could chat to him in English and that a basic command of the language was one of the conditions of him being able to spend time with Quins. As you're not Phil Jones, Tony Gigot, Jeff Jouffret or the other person who set up his time with Quins then you can only speculate.

Demi in this case means either scrum half or stand off (demi de melee or demi d'ouvre). Otherwise a fair stab at translating.

I certainly remember it being said on these boards that that was the reason. Iv'e never met him myself. I saw him then as a decent prospect and was disappoited when he left. As he's French he's more likely to settle better in London for various reasons than up north. Im hoping we can get the best out of him and with Longy to teach him there is no one better

Don't believe everything you read on these boards. There were 4 people (3 named above as they were/are employed in RL, the other acted as a go between but is not employed by any RL club so remains anonymous) involved in setting up his time at Quins and a basic knowledge of English was one of the conditions (after the experience with a previous French player). The reason he was let go is similar to what the then coach at the club said when offered Julien Rinaldi as a player.

Steep learning curve is about right.

I genuinely felt optimistic when we started the season with signings like Gower, Robertson, Rodney, Kafusi and had SL standard players like Colbon, Cook et al to replace not-quites like Olsi and Jamie O'C. Even kidded myself that 'names' Mark Calderwood and Karl Pryce might show something like form when they were down here.

Struggling to get excited about this team though. Given Salford's on-paper improvement (teams with Adrian Morley in don't finish last), and Cas, Wakey and HKRs squads we're looking down the barrels of a solid, and probably record-breaking, last place.

After losing all the players, all the staff and moving grounds I'm even struggling to think of it as my club anymore.

How's that for pessimistic.

Been on holiday so only just seen the signings. Gigot sounds like a decent addition, a prop or 2 would be bloody lovely though
