noises I've heard here in NZ is that a new ground and name are the plan........as you say listy...it might be the death knell but I'll be even more upset if they just roll up somewhere and expect people to pay to watch games.

Apparently a lot of RU supporters who are not Harlequins FC supporters are put off coming to the Stoop to support a rugby league team called Harlequins.

Cheers mate, I stand corrected, i'd just heard it on the radio. Would be great if this kind of set up was available for you though.

Something I have said all a long.
Another thing is unless Quins are to build a new ground where would they move to?
Unless its back to Brentford when/if they move everywhere else apart from Barnet or Leyton O would be too big.

| It is so good that in general a lot of common sense is being discussed! if Rugby League is going to be a Super League it needs London, of course many on the M62 corridor will not agree they would gladly see the game go semi pro again?? heads in the sand.
Yes we do need a ground of our own one day, as Jonny has said perhaps there may be something from the Olympic legacy we can look to? and leaving the Harlequins would bring about a name change.
But no way can we afford or the game for us to drop into the Championship as I stated at the start that would be a death wish and knock rugby league back further than it is today.
I Know! the RFL is treating this matter seriously and they are consulting of course not in public how is best to go forward, we all seem to agree and I know that one person who has responded to them also agree it is no use throwing money at the current set up we have, we need a well organized winning team and club first!

| And whatever we end up doing please ensure that the development work done over the last few years are not wasted and that we keep an active presence in West London / South West London regardless of our club location. I am happy to argue the toss with anyone who says London has failed after 30 years of development / opportunity as this is patentely an argument that works for the blinkered flat earth society, but we have now had 5 years of organised consolidated development which is bearing fruit - to lose that would be a travesty.

Did I say it was my control to ensure a winning side? I don't think so.
What is vital to ensure success us how the way the club is financed and how serious future team recruitment is done and that relies on finance, yes we are making great strides with development and I fully support that but it is still on going and we need to be able to keep hold of talented players we develop. I still think the game needs a ruling that any young player (Under 24, 25 or 26?) who leaves a club if they have developed that player should receive a fee even if he is at the end of his contract and if the two clubs can't agree it is decided by an independent tribunal on the way the player has played and developed and that fee is not up for any discussion.

| Why would dropping a division help the club? Most of the fan base would leave. No players from up North would want to come and live down here on part-time wages, so effectively it would just be players from our academy playing every week. We'd be getting thrased every week and end up like Skolars and Gateshead at the bottom of Championship 1, winning one game a season.
Moving grounds (again!) isn't going to chnage anything. Where would we go? Most places we've tried, no other football clubs would want us there.
Again I don't see what being called 'London Broncos' will acheive. It just makes us sound like an American football team. It's not like it was the original name of the club, some people need to let it go.

London RLFC. We've had that on the shirt before, adding an animal after London just makes people think we are an american football team playing in London.
London Rugby League Football Club with a new emblem that incorporates the Bronco, Harlequin, along with the Crusader and Fulham badges.

It looks like we have given up the rights to the London Crusaders name, so at least no-one will be asking for that, even if the Celtic team hadn't come along.

| Well we all have opinions and I never liked the Crusaders logo it looked as if we were part of the Daily Express! I would rather have a Bronco but LONDON RUGBY LEAGUE CLUB is the name and to try and find an Olympic 2012 venue we can inherit!

Well with the picture that Barry Hearn paints maybe Leyton Orient may face tough times with West Ham moving a little closer to the O's. A move to Brisbane Road would be a nod to our days of being owned by the Brisbane Broncos, and it is a return to North London, moving south of the river something some fans have never forgiven the club for doing.

| It has been said that the number of people watching RL on SKY is boosted by the significant numbers in the London area.
If London is producing a disproportionatly high number of SKY viewers perhaps Quins should ask for a disproportionatly high percentage of the SKY money.
Perhaps this is time for the RFL to back its expansion clubs with the TV money that their audience brings.
That kind of money could change and improve things for Quins almost overnight!

| London FC, that would really confuse people.
Maybe relocate to Loftus Road and become Quins Park Rangers.
Go along the rugby union London Irish, London Welsh and London Scottish route and call ourselves London English.
London Spartans, would tickle many a belly and would make for an interesting replica playing kit for some of our larger fans.

| Everytime someone asks what I'm doing at the weekend, I tell them I'm going to watch a Rugby League match. They ask who it is. I reply Harlequins. They reply that they thought that was a Rugby Union club. I reply no, they have two teams. I'm not sure why that's especially confusing, they seem to grasp it quite quickly.
Same goes with the way we advertise our games - it is made blatantly obvious what people are going to go and watch - COME AND WATCH RUGBY LEAGUE IN LONDON etc. That is the way our club will be advertised regardless of its name. The link to Harlequins is an excellent bonus.
People read far too much into things. The marketing we use is pretty simple and clearcut.
