I have to commend each and every one of you who spend their hard earned watching that bunch every other week. To put it frankly, that is easily the worst side I've seen in Super League.

The highest rated player, Dixon, is nowhere near as good as he's been hyped up to be. He carries the ball sloppy at times and his defensive game simply isn't good enough due to his size.

Mike McMeekan is another I've seen talked up on here. God, if that's the best on offer you have to seriously worry. Sarginson isn't fantastic but the big issue is when he goes imagine the standard of the replacement.

The older and apparently more experienced players are far worse than the young kids. Howell, O'Callaghan, Witt etc were beyond diabolical and frankly stealing a living.

I would agree on Dixon, he has a lot to learn. Such raw pace and attacking flair is not something that the Broncos have in abundance though.

One incompetent or substandard player in an otherwise good team can make a team's chances of winning difficult. Two incompetent or substandard players can destroy a team's chances of winning. Three incompetent or substandard players can result in a humiliating massive loss.

London Broncos has at least three incompetent or substandard players playing each week: O'Callaghan, Howell and McMeeken were the ones last Saturday. No matter how good Craig Gower is -- and he is a very good scrum half -- that fact of having too many substandard players on the field is enough to be able to predict a humiliating defeat for London week after week.

I expect Kaufusi, Clubb and Channing back for the Cas game.

I thought we made an exceptional contribution to the concept of the Magic weekend. We managed to vanish our defence for much of the second half!

On Kieran Dixon's try, you have to say how clever and good it was. The thing for me to notice is that it's not hyped up like it is here in oz.

then tell me what was so different. It's amazing how people don't comment much on a try but when an aussie does it in a big game, they get through a box of kleenex.

And Dixon stepped the winger before putting in his kick, Billy the Kid just ran onto Lockyers kick.

to be fair if you watch it back, Dixon had a man on his inside screaming for the ball when he kicked over the full back - there was a 2 on 1 and but for a lucky bounce into his hands, it was a terrible decision to kick it.

As for Saturday against us, we had a good result against a very poor turnout from wakefield - it's too close to call for me if you have a few guys back

Dixon has a better chance of Olympic Gold in 2016 than a long and successful career in RL...IMHO that is.

Gutters...how have you come to that conclusion? You've barely seen him play on TV and you haven't seen him at all in a live game.

He has questionable defence....I have seen all our highlights (sic) this year and he is an exciting prospect going forward, but a liability/turnstyle when defending. He gives it all, but he is basically only able to tackle around the legs which leaves off-loads.....if he goes high, he gets bounced off......

His natural speed and step are genius, but the game has moved on since the days of Jason Robinson...Centres are like second rowers and even wingers are getting bigger....dare I say that the great Billy Wizz would struggle in the modern game?

I doubt me seeing him miss tackles in the flesh as opposed to on highlights reels would change me opinion of him....

You could say it, but I'm pretty sure you'd be wrong. He was about the same size weight as Chris Riley, and I don't think I'd be suggesting Riley was as good as Robinson any time soon, but Riley holds a place down at the Wolves.
Dixon is also similar to Riley, but has better stats across the board - at least according to SL.

Kieran needs to work on tackling for sure, but he's not alone it that.

The top winger in SL is Charnley, hardly a blockbusting winger, and I would say not as good as Robinson.

You would be talking complete rubbish to suggest Robinson would struggle in modern RL. I know players of both codes who played with and against him; they all agree he was freakishly powerful in addition to his other skills/abilities. I saw him play as a loose forward and a half back in his development years and he was useful in those positions too. To compare the very quick and enthusiastic Dixon to a once in a generation player like Robinson, as quite a few seem to, shows a lack of knowledge about rugby, in my view.

I suspect the only comparison is Dixons style of running when in close proximity of other players and also how he gets out of acting half back. Its very Robinson like.

I meant about Dixon still being in SL in a few years....I just conveyed it badly. Dixon is 5'7"...he doesn't even tower over Rob Burrows and he has regularly been a route to points for the opposition outside backs. Nobody doubts his strike rate, which is outstanding.....but the modern RL player either needs more to his game, or a team that can defend for him.


Hard to say about the impact a young Jason Robinson would have on the game of RL today, but I for one believe the game we have now in 2013 is bigger, stronger and faster than it was back on 1999/2000.

Charley's good but Ryan Hall is number 1 for mine. He has it all.

I'm giving this short shrift. Robinson was not only lightning quick, he was strong and he could tackle. You're talking out of your backside.

Kyle Eastmond is 2 inches shorter than Kieran and has seemed to do OK in the modern game.

Scrum halves tend to be small and are usually helped by defenders. If you have wingers who are also small you get the defensive problems we have.

...so the game isn't bigger and faster now than it was 13 years ago?

The idea of comparing past with present players is rather silly in that they developed and played under different conditions. If a bull had tits it would be a cow. But it doesn't, and Robinson doesn't play now. You are, to quote Captain Mainwaring, "in the realms of fantasy"
