| Would that have been the team that had 8k ish at the Stoop against St Helens? And the publicity shots of Dizzee Rascal in their home shirt? The one that held Summer Camps for kids? The one that had End of Season events for sponsors and general supporters to mix with the players? The one that bussed supporters for free to a Cup game in Leeds? The one that hosted Melbourne and Manly before the World Club Challenge? The one with the marketing team? The one with a plan?

| In order: The team that had 2k ish in September 2007 against Salford, yes, Summer camps still happen, yes, don't know, not during Ian Lengan's time, not sure - you'd have to ask Gutters, possibly not a great one.
My point is that Ian Lenagan was the owner between 2005-2007, and could have done the same thing then for the Broncos, but didn't, and I'm not sure what he did helped. I'm sure some would say the opposite occurred. I've nothing against him, I just don't think because he has initiated this it will work.

Lenegan came in at the end of 2005, so he "owned" the club for 2 years.
The best supported period in the clubs SL history over a period at one stadium as one club was as Harlequins RL.
After he had been told he could not contribute and had to go, SPORTS CAFE sponsored us for another season to the tune of 250k! Guess who owned Sports Cafe at the time?
Lenegan......3 years later we got Selco for 30k.
Lenegan paid for Wigan fans to travel to the stoop in 2008....STILL THE LAST TIME WE ACHIEVED A CROWD THAT SIZE and more than we will get at the HIVE all regular season this year.
Lenegan understood/understands the need to create an events and engage large corporates. His Marketing team offering Heinz a deal for the JJB when we played there in 2009 was a precursor to Heinz becoming a sponsor of SL
Lenegan took over at wigan with 13k average and delivered 15k....that's a 14% increase in 3 years. Lenegan left us in 2008 and in the same 3 years we DROPPED 20%.
Ian Lenegan could kill small furry animals and be cruel to Children for all I know, but he is not, in any way culpable for the demise of the club we support.
I reckon Wigan will fill a 20k seater stadium...I wish them all the best and I hope Hughes is suitably ashamed of what he's done to the Broncos....

| Agree with Gutters re. Lenaghan.
We should be looking at how we piggy-back on this. Double-header somewhere.

| We shouldn't be piggy backing off anyone, we should be doing it ourselves. We're not but it doesn't always need to be that way. There will be circumstances for change; we have to be ready to grasp opportunities when they come.

Agreed, trouble is we haven't been too good at spotting the opportunities, let alone grasping them! Sadly!

We should be taking all opportunities whether we create them or someone else does. Sadly, we don't seem interested in growing the club at all. We have no income besides a Sky parachute payment and the sale of 200 replica shirts. The Sheffield game is a massive opportunity but I can't see any effort being put into turning that into something special.

You are correct. Problem is, that was 1 year, not a period of time.
The Only ground where we GREW attendances was Griffin Park, but the 4 Year period where we had the most fans was 2006-2009.

Indeed, but Hughes has abdicated any need to promote games and put the club on a healthy footing by slashing admin costs and swapping income for pitch rental. We still PAY for offices and Training facilities, Travel and all the other things required and he will be stumping up 1 million or so to cover that this year, but what happens next year when we don't have the extra wedge from the RFL and our current agreement with the landlord expires?
The Supporters group have had more contact with me regarding Heritage Day this week than the club have. Hughes just doesn't care so long as he can watch his team!

selected information? I am intrigued now. Are you suggesting that Hughes employment decisions combined with his own admission that he hasn't a clue about running a business (read a pastel revolution) are NOT responsible for the predicament that the club find themselves in?
Just to recap, the only income the club receives is from the RFL and a share of the profits on merchandise sales....before Hughes steps in a makes up any shortfall. The 2 Year agreement at the Hive ends this year. We do pay rent on offices and training facilities away from the Hive.

Nope...it was down to the club having a group of volunteers who were prepared to often as not travel across town after work mid-week to collect the flyers and who then door dropped them to the surrounding area. I was simply a local who was prepared to help out.
Chris Warren was the then Marketing Manager and he had an assistant then too.......neither assisted in the door drops as it was outside of office hours.
