Around 250. Broncos fans even had a drum. Wind, rain and mud. The boys (one 16 year old) did well against a strong Hemel team.

| What I want to know is why season tickets for the youth have increased by 100% on last year. Why have we moved to a 5000 stadium and accepted a financial deal which looks worse than at any time in the past? Why did Gus over 12 months ago decide to move from the stoop and make the announcement before the season started and thereby setting the scene for mediocrity. IMHO we have been sold a very bad deal, smashed the youth set up, lost the trust of many supporters, and then state be positive with the track record of the current management! Dead men walking but more importantly, why is Gus still employed when he has failed so badly in the past other than bring the club to its knees? Until he goes I cannot see any positive change for the future other than preparation for the championship.

| A very simple question which may or maynot have been asked directly to AK. The revenue being generated by membership, use of the ground, bars etc from London Broncos tenure at the Hive; will any of it be put back into the Broncos? To me, this is a crucial question. If it has a constructive or a positive answer it may silence some of the critisms coming the way of this move.

No now but if AK sees that this rugby league lark can catch on and London Broncos are viable perhaps he will put his hand on his pocket.

| We used to pay Harlequins Rugby Union Club £25,000 per game. They also pocketed the bar takings. They charged a fiver for parking and creamed off whatever else they could with rip-off vendors placed within the Stadium wanting the best part of six quid for a basic takeaway out of a burger van with a polystyrene tray. Don't forget that the Bar charged over £4 a pint to drink a very limited selection of beers out of a plastic glass with more or less nowhere to sit in the main bar.
We used to train a public park and could not access many of the more advanced facilities that were available to their own club.
We now pay Barnet FC £0 per game. True, they pocket the bar takings. They charge £1 for parking and charge reasonable prices and have a fully stocked bar with a wide range of food and drink at fair prices. If Kleanthous makes some money from the deal that's great, it might entice him in to take over, which is something the club badly needs.
We now have effectively our own Stadium as a training ground and one for match days fully stocked with good facilities and nothing is off limits.
If people are desperate to put something in, then all the players are available for sponsorship and this will go to the Broncos. Last time I checked only Will Lovell and Matt Cook were sponsored.
I will certainly be putting in as much as I can afford to help make the deal work, that is for sure.
I suspect some commentators on here would be happy for the club to go providing it takes Gus also and will complain whatever happens, but true support is not a one time thing it is an all time thing.

| I thought one of Tony Reas stats was interesting about the squad. Players who left last year had played 1500 games between them all. This years squad have played a total of 150 games between them all. OK the numbers are probably rough but shows how inexperienced our squad is.
FWIW The Hive is actually a really nice place once you go there, I was sceptical about a 5,000 seater before I went there but the open day really made me like the place and look forward to watching rugby there (even if it's the oppo playing it) Kleanthous kept emphasising the partnership that we have but he does seem quite heavily involved as we have no staff capable of sorting things out, but all in all the vibes are a lot more positive at the place now and I'd recomend people giving the hive a go if you haven't been yet.
Yes we are going to be rubbish and probably go down and have an ownership crisis next year, but a lot of us will still go there to watch it so let's make the most of it.

| Mark you spoilt a really good post with the last sentence
but true support is not a one time thing it is an all time thing
There are a great number of supporters who are not willing to be led blindfolded and soak up whatever is thrown at them just becaause it is a club they love. Many of those supporters have been around years longer than you, like you in the past they have travelled to all home and away games but as you get older you can neither afford the time, energy or money to do all home and away games, circumstances dictate and enforce change. Let me also remind you a lot of the people you are decrying are ones who have paid a fortune to the club on donantions, sponsorships, financial deals, fund raising set ups, manual labour and lots of other things. They have given up vast amounts of time and spent their own money in support of this club. Dont accuse people of not being proper supporters because they dont agree with you all the time. We all have our own thoughts and values and expectations and just because they do not agree with your ideals does not make it a bad thing. Think before you speak.

| Sogspurs well said! Its now down to see what happens. Tk was happy to stand up yesterday and field questions which was good to see, he could easily have got very frustrated with some of the questions, eg membership or season ticket, its the same thing just doing it a different way.
does the set up make good business sense? Thats for tk and dh I do get the feeling its looking further fwd than just this year tbh if! Tk likes the rl product.

| I think some people have become so outraged with their hatred of Gus and others that they are beyond irrational to the point of bitterness, if not crazyness.
But I think that the minimum requirement to go onto the London Broncos fans forum and regularly commentate is at heart a warm feeling towards our club no matter whether we win or lose or your feelings towards any specific component of the club.
It is not a question of how many games you have been to or whether you go to any games at all and neither does it matter whether you agree with me or not.
It is a very sad state of affairs we are in, the club has had its darkest hour and we must unite if we are to once again make our stand.
Because in the end all that matters is that we stand.

The problem with TK is i don't think he is rich enough to say''i like this product so much that i can afford to subsidise losses''. If DH pulls out at the end of this season and no one else steps in i fear that will be the end. If DH maintains his input untill the new Sky money comes in then maybe we will be viable especially if TK can get the crowds up with a winning team. We really do need another investor like DH to come forward soon to plug the financial hole he will leave.

| Who would want to subsidise losses? If I won the euromillions and wanted to buy the club I would not want to subsidise losses either, you have to make the club profitable as a business, make players want to play here and fans new old and from a far want to come here. He likes the game but I don't think he has seen a live one yet so I doubt he will just get involved in a club for the sake of it, he must see a business opportunity in us somewhere. The new tv deal will cover a lot of the wages when it comes into place which surely is the clubs biggest outgoing, the rest of the stuff he has to work out how to balance himself but I'm sure he can

| How is anything I posted in this thread based on anything other than the NOW? FACT: Landlord gets paid rentFACT: Landlord gets paid by RFL to market usFACT: Landlord gets cut of ticketing revenueFACT: Landlord gets all bar and food revenueFACT: Landlord admits he could so better.Historically (just for you), we've all been here before and got various T-shirts.....I fail to see how some on here expect anything different this time around!
Sorry could not get the quote thing to work
As some one else has said on here so what!
without it the london broncos would not be here right now!
Rant as much as you want gutters we are still here still fighting and hopefully will be for years to come, fact without this deal good or bad we would not be at the starting point for 2014
Their was no sugar coating yesterday as you suggested 50 or so folk did not hear what they wanted to hear, they heard honest answers to the questions asked, they did admit that they have got things wrong tk the same.
so lets just see what happens on the park

| Quote ="Paddock Punter"When someone suggested that London be dropped from the name The Warder said that "London is a massive market to tap into". What puzzles me is that
A/ the Broncos don't gain whether there are 10 people at the game or 10,000, TK does and [uhe seemed only interested in local marketing[/u
B/ has this massive market just occurred, I could have sworn it was there before and we did nothing about it.
'"
From TK's point of view, if he finds 5,000 new Broncos fans in the Barnet area then Broncos won't ever leave and he gets his money.
If he finds 5,000 new Broncos fans across London then there is every chance that Broncos will say "Thanks very much but we're off to Crystal Palace".
