Only saw it today and didn't notice that. Not sure it makes it wrong and it is a good read anyway. I can't recall seeing the bloke mentioned here or elsewhere before.

Good to see news posted (2 articles in one day no less), but it does beg the question as to whether the club web site is now redundant?......or is this an element that will be taken over by the Barnet admin team?

The Long article on the BBC website is the first official statement I have seen that he has been given the assistant coach position.

Good read from Sean Long. I'm hoping he will be able to pass down some tips and wisdom onto Bishay and JWH and turn them into great halves for us. It's good to have a 'big' name on board at the club as well, who would be recognizable to non-RL fans.

Have we signed any top tier players? The number of grand final type players on offer would point to me being correct BTW......and the Sydney media can say what they want. Until they start producing signed players, I will assert that at this late stage, the club have made a rod for their own back.



Basically, I reckon there are not a lot of good players left for us to sign for the 2014 season. Failing to sign a Manly prop doesn't disprove my assertion and neither does pulling me up on the exact direction that an U20 player has moved at Cronulla between 2012 when he played 10 times for the team and 2013 when he didn't get mentioned anywhere in regards to the 20's or the reserve grade, who were crowned champions.
I bow to your superior knowledge that U20 to reserve is not a step backwards, but given it looks very much like he didn't get a game at the higher reserve level, my point is still valid.

As for you defending the club? I probably do you a disservice in saying that. You seem to have targeted me for particular attention since I suggested Gus might have performed "favours" for Hughes when I could think of no other reason for his continued employment. It's just I take announcements of pending events with a pinch of salt given the 12 month build up in total secrecy to a new rental agreement and a try before you buy (and we'll pay you too) opportunity for a potential investor who doesn't invest in his other sporting club but instead expects it to be self sufficient.

6,000 fans at 20 a pop spending another tenner at every home game would deliver 2.34 million a year and coupled with potential sponsors and the sky cash would give us a pop at self sufficiency.
The Hive doesn't hold 6k, their football team averages 27% of that and their owner has a marketing team made up of an estate agent and a recruitment consultant.....yet this is a good deal for us according to Gus, so when he comments on visa applications I tend to take things with a very large lorry-load of salt!

If this part of an article is correct, and given it is a quote then I assume it is then, bar the sky money & some sponsorship, how the hell are the Broncos ever going to earn any additional income?

In fact, as the deal has been explained(badly), Barnet/The Hive/Anthony K are being PAID to look after our admin and marketing too boot.......



This deal is a 12 month or possibly 24 month stop gap that fits the RFL agenda for a reduction in SL and does the London Broncos absolutely no favours at all......we are again paying tenants but this time without the hand picked staff of our CEO or the ticket or match-day revenue.

It still irks me that the club is run (and allowed to be run by the RFL) like an amateur set up with no planning and no thought of consequence.....basically, we are a team with a coach, trainer and kit-man playing out of a ground we rent and reliant on the generosity of 1 man.....all that is missing is a few "hand picked" staff.

Well I come back from Oz on Saturday and yes we have had Xmas and the New Year while I have been away but the silence is deafening. Let's hope for some news either by the weekend or early next week or my support will not be in evidence this year.

I think the club is correct in not announcing signings until they actually have their visas. I know fans are keen to see what sort of team we will have but there are plenty on here who will jump on the club as being incompetent if they screw up just trying to pacify fans who are demanding to be told information which may turn out to be false. PC Plum has allready given an indication of the 'irons in the fire. Much as as im concerned about the quality of players we will get im sure we will have the numbers on the pitch. A few clubs have allready indicated a willingness to loan a few players which may be dependant on what players we can first sign from down under.

I hope someone is clued up on how many overseas players we are allowed this time around (and who qualifies as overseas), we do not want a repeat of the Jarrad Hickey farce in 2012

Gus TWICE promised me that he would post me 2 replica shirts. Either there is a nattily dressed NZ Post employee sporting both the home and away shirts from 2012, sans sponsors, or he forgot, despite saying he would send them TWICE.
I hope he reads this and is suitably ashamed for promising these items to me TWICE and makes good on his DOUBLE promise, but in reality, I doubt his budget for 2014 will run to a couple of Business Class flights to Blighty.
