| Superb full page by Hector McNeil, in today's "League Express" what he states, I have been saying since we left Fulham, and just got knocked back so many times, for even thinking.
"League Express" also cover well, what Tony Rea had to say, about out future, and how we will be in Super League 2014.
It goes without saying "League Weekly" after their obituary a few weeks back, did not have any mention, nothing but a "rag" these days.

Of course, they are strong decisions, but they are being made, and hopefully close to agreement.

Well he would say that. I'm afraid I place very little reliance on what this bloke says in public any more.

| At least TR is demonstrating again that he understands that the club needs to talk to its supporters. Has the chief exec lost his tongue? Of course he can't divulge anything that's subject to commercial confidence and I'll accept that sorting this matter out is complex and time-consuming.
But he could at least say as much as TR is saying. That's part of his job is it not?

| I hope a deal can be done but frankly a clean out of the management is required as well as players. Gus has obviously got to go and while I'd be happy for DH to continue to pour his money down the drain, I am not sure he should be involved in any decision making going forward.

It's a full page, but he stresses how many Northern rugby league fans just don't understand London, and he makes it clear the Super League has to have a London Club. Hector is critical of the restraints a London club has with costs in London, he goes on to say what I first said after we left Fulham, and just kept getting knocked back, that the RFL and perhaps Sky should have stepped in, and established a ground for rugby league in London, and he feels this is still necessary, to be the foundation of a London club and it's future, like I always said, basing offices for RL at the ground.
Something which is new, he suggests the forming of a company London RL Ltd, and Super League clubs and the RFL would have a voice on the board. Hector mentions the land which was offered on a long term lease, rent free and was never taken up.
It is a really interesting article, and it is clear that Hector is now determined to get his message through, if rugby league is ever going to be a success, he says that a Championship club status would be a disaster for London, as it is only top level success that will ever attract new supporters in numbers. As I said on a thread here, it is time for the RFL to come up with action and not words, otherwise, forget about any RL outside of the North, and retreat to being a minor sport on the M62 corridor.
This is the first time for me someone in Hector's position in business and successful, has stood up for London RL and The Broncos, this has to get through to the RFL and Super League chairmen, it is time to put aside the parochial attitude of many clubs, and start working together to develop rugby league in this country, the NRL did it with Melbourne.
Away from this article, It seems when the sale of the club, goes through, as long as we are debt free, David Hughes will be willing to invest in the new club for two more years, Hector agrees with me, there are far too many who knock David, but I can't see anyone else until now, willing to put up the money, he has over the past years with a London Rugby League club, find me any owner in Super League, who does pr has not made mistakes! it is having the real dedicated and right staff around as well.

Cant disagree with any of that. God knows what will happen in two more years though. We'd better make sure that those well healed residents in North London are brought in to see us ''compete'' and dig deep into their pockets to take over from DH's.

| It all depends how much the new owner will put in financially? David Hughes two years, I see as not withdrawing immediately, which many suggested.

| 1. Amazed that because HO'N at the Skolars says it, it suddenly becomes more relevant than when dozens of keyboard warriors have said it over the years.
2. David Hughes is in equal measure, responsible for the clubs existence, but also the crapper it finds itself in now.
3. If there are not wholesale changes at the club with an emphasis on the acceptability of failure, then let's put adate in our diary to do this all again in 12 or 24months time.

| Am not sure what to think here really, on the one hand I'm delighted that we may well have a SL club. But then again what the Pengiun says is bang on the money.

| If it comes off we will be in SL next season. However if we are not competitive (which is the likely scenario at the moment) we will be relegated and that will be it in my opinion. That is why the franchise system was good for us. If by a miracle we stay up then its a race to get the crowds up get the money in and get competitve asap to keep us alive. The disadvantages of recruitement down South remain and it just takes one poor season and we are down and out. The last two seasons have shown that supporters will not watch a team being thrashed every week and realise we cannot change it because Northern players ( where most of the available player pool is) dont want to move down here and we cannot break out of this straightjacket until we produce all the players in our team.

| Gutterfax the only reason that Hector may be taken more serious, is his concerns for the future of the Skolars, who get praised for running a tight club on and off the field. Those who make decisions about the future of the game, are not interested in us keyboard warriors. Back after the end of Fulham, it was letters, even then no one was interested. I still claim the The RFL only ever show interest in London in words, never real actions.
It may end up the way The Penguin seems to predict, but no one really knows until everything is signed. There was silence with Bradford Bulls, and fans had out so much of their own money to keep that club going, The RFL seemed to pull out all stops with them, and in still not convinced, what us happening there. But what do we do, just because we don't know all the facts yet, do we go forward thinking everything will go wrong, anyone who feels that way may as well call it a day now, find another club or sport. Sheffield Eagles have no ground, Wakefield seem to have problems, everything does not seen to be perfect at Wakefield, but I'm sure there supporters go forward, with some hope, at least.
I stand by IF, against all odds now we fail, then I see no future for rugby league in London or the south. How do you sell the game, play rugby league at junior level, and move to the North, for a minor sport, that will never develop?
My glass is still half Full, but we have to see what happens, and how it works out. I'm not giving up yet.

| Cannot argue with the sentiments behind the article. and its very good news, if true, that David Hughes will give support for two more years (and credit to him after the last 2 years! Even given Gutterfax says). There are still too big questions:
1. What are the debts, what will it take to make the Clud debt free?
2. Does anyone believe the RFL will do anything positive to help? Buying a ground with all SL clubs holding a share sounds like an excellent idea, but one i suspect is beyond the wit of both the Clubs and the RFL - needs imagination and vision. Not something RL has had for a very long time.............................

| No, like most "solutions", it requires money that the RFL / the game just doesn't have.
Wakey are close to bankruptcy and can't get their own stadium sorted out, do you really think that they can afford to buy a stake in a stadium in one of the world's most expensive cities? What about Bradford? They no longer even own their own stadium.
Not to mention that these clubs are competing with Broncos to avoid relegation. Wakey and Broncos have to be favourites to go down next year. Who wishes to throw Broncos a life jacket?

| RFL have a master plan to merge Sheffield, Wakefield and London and play at Leigh Sports Village
Seriously I think the RFL should steer clear of club organization, they don't have a good record and don't have the money.
