The only missed opportunity I have mentioned here is the totalack of anything fromKeith Hogg when he was running the club....after Paul Brown left. I am aware that he was the reason we had fosters asasponsorearlier in the piece,but I said BOSS Hogg.....as in when he was BOSS. You were the one who alluded that I meant that fosters sponsoring a northern club was a missed opp....I never said it.

Sorry, but all I said was that a major international brand had stuck their logo, no matter how small, on a RL shirt........putting into perspective the false sense of relief felt here by the announcement of a 12 month deal with SELCO.

Virgin, Metro, TNT, Flight Centre, VB, Fosters & Bartercard are some of the internationally known brands that adorn my LB/HRL shirts.........not, as was the case for most of 2011....a local dentist!

What you say may be right but I do think you're under-estimating the size of Selco. I don't work in anything like the building trade but I'm well aware of them. Selco are certainly at the very least comparible with other SL shirt sponsors.....

Now now folks, getting a touch personal. I would love to know how much the Selco deal is worth, I just hope we didn't sell ourselves too short if this is to be the main sponsor. However what I will say but I will certainly not give up my source, is that I was informed that Gus is the worst CEO the club has had !! Which from my expereince has me wondering how he fastens his shoe laces then.

I would be more worried about what I saw on the field. I watched the 1st session when Tony was brought back in July and he really does have his work cut out from what I witnessed. The basics were shocking.

The club has always been poor in the marketing department. Too many were given a job that they had no experience in but a lot of back room staff worked long hours and tried their hardest. Yes there has always been a few slackers (what you looking at me for?) but in my experience the more you pay the person in the role the less hands on they want to get involved with.

Still miffed that I couldn't buy any merchandise when I was there.

I don't think GF has had anything handed to him. I don't think people go out of their way to do so either, do they? Not sure where GF's personal jibes are either?

I just get a bit tired of the abject negativity. In this instance. Pointing out, yet again, the club's obvious failings in GF's mind that they did not attract Fosters as a sponsor. We allegedly "missed an opportunity" because another RL team in another division got sponsorship from a former sponsor of ours.

That in itself does nothing more than attract further unwarranted negative attention on this forum towards the club, when in this scenario it isn't due and is completely unnecessary.

Therefore it is a pointless and harmful thread.

Probiz sponsor half of Rugby League it seems and I beleive they are based down the road in Reading (or so someone told me).
