Definitely Gower

I really couldn't care who smiles and has photos taken, signs autographs or spends time with fans. I dont go to the game to neck gallons of lager or mix in the bar with players afterwards it's each to their own. I go to the game to hopefully see a professional game of rugby league which happens to be a game I love. There haven't been many games this season which fall into that category. And to add fuel to the fire I would prefer the supporters award to go to someone who acknowledges those very people. I don't entirely disagree with your comments and I did say in my opening post that either Gower or Melling would also be strong contenders due to the effort they put in each week . However, I don't feel Gower relates to supporters so would he really appreciate a supporters award. I think Dixon would appreciate it more. I appreciate Gower doesn't like losing none of us do. I appreciate he is a great player but I also appreciate it is bad sportsmanship to walk off and not shake the hand of the opposition. Just my thoughts.

I guess it would be a fair and valid criteria if you based your choice on good club/supporters man and good on the pitch.

My choice is based purely on who has done the most for the team on the pitch so for me, it has to be CG (do agree he is a bit of a misery!) Wonder if he'll be sweetness and light if we win every week? (Not that we will ever get to find out!)

Apparently the lack of people on here is down to my continued posting about attendances.........you have my vote via PM, the hoardes that used to post here are sick of my marketing posts.......they all post on FB/twitter.......that's all 5,000 of them

to be fair, there would be a Players' Player award nominated for each week, whatever the score. It is to recognise who the team thought did well... irrelevant of the scoreline or position on table.

So why not reward the player who the public think played the best over a season?

Well, there aren't a lot of us here are there? I'd suggest that if you don't get whatever you think is a fair number of votes, you don't make an award this year.

Maybe you could get the club to send out voting info with season ticket renewal info (whenever they manage to do that) and then make the award at the start of next season? You should get a bigger and more representative response that way. It would also give you time to sort out the trophy.

Can't expect much more after the season we have had but a trait is emerging.

TBF Dotti, I know at least 6 regular attenders of our games that never look at this site (and never have).

Most people don't use msg boards and in view of the fact that they mostly thrive on negativity, I can't say I blame them!
