Quote ="gutterfax"The Club need to start thinking about 2013 NOW and start putting down concrete plans....the shirt, if it's being redesigned, needs to be shown off by the last day of the season and in the shop for xmas...the ST prices, once the venue issue is cleared up, need to be marketed now.....the number of OTR games declared.......a sponsor needs to be attracted, by any means.....2013 is a big year on the park, but it is MASSIVE off it, because the performance of the club as a business will be what the RFL will be looking at when it comes to licencing in summer 2014.......and it will also be the last opportunity to show the club in a good light to any potential nutters....sorry, investors.'"
You've mentioned a bunch of things there, and you can only assume, based on history, that we will manage to get absolutely all of them wrong.
Strong chances of:
1) The re-designed shirt being shown off in January on a jPeg, physically seen for the first time at a muddy HAC, and for sale by home game 2. The kit supplier will be the Madras Rubber Factory.
2) season ticket prices following the rule of "Random Walk". I honestly have no idea if they'll all be £350, all £50, or a bizarre mix in-between. Fair chance we'll re-jig what parts of the ground we'll open though.
3) the fixture list containing three "Venue TBC" dates, due to not being able to agree OTR venues, dates or financial arrangements. We will talk up the many options we have for crowdless grounds though.
4) the current sponsor not renewing and a return to the Foundation as major shirt sponsor.
5) the performance of the club as a business, like the rest of Superleague, will be completely ignored by the RFL
6) investors will obviously not be actually sought out. If they stumble across us, they will not be shown financials. If they ask about them, they will be told the average loss for the past 7 years has been £1.8m - so imagine what that could balloon to if you wanted to be successful!
7) and at risk of putting my head in the lion's mouth, marketing will continue to consist of Facebook posts. We will however, continue to hold 31 press conferences a year with awkward photos, and one fans forum.
Exciting times ahead.
