Half right as I said earlier, you have to have something to market first before you try and sell the product.
No matter how good a marketing person is, that can't sell a crap experience twice and who would want to pay again to see us???
The Club should sack Powell now, get in a decent coach, give all current season ticket holders renewal at 50% of this years price and work their s off from now till next season marketing and training.

I understand the sentiment but I personally would be more than happy to pay £99 again, but I think the damage has already been done. Our 'brand' has been irrevocably tarnished, associated with complete and utter dismal failure. Powell is only at fault for what he is in control of i.e. on-pitch matters. Off the field no investor in their right mind would touch us, so short of the RFL and Sky clubbing together to buy a controlling stake in us I just don't see where we go once Hughes runs out of patience.

Surely his problem is too much patience.
I realise it's his train set & he can do what he likes with it but it feels more like a live action re-enactment of [iBrewster's Millions[/i day by day.

| At least we all seem to be in agreement that far too much patience has been shown which has ended up creating what is now a crisis, good job the game is badly handling the Bradford situation it had detracted away from our position, but unfortunately I can't see anything changing at our club this season has been a disaster so far on and off the pitch.

| My reasons for moving East are;
1.) Closeness to a number of amateur clubs. For example, Medway Dragons wouldn't be the end of the earth in terms of travelling time from Stratford International. Its a known fact that thousands of tickets were given to the Medway club for the Gillingham game, by moving nearer more may be tempted to buy season tickets/attend the odd game or three.
2.) 2012. This year as we well know, we have the Olympic Games in the East of the City. There will then be thousands of houses built on the site, which will eventually be filled, giving the club even more people to aim at. Also, the sporting facilities left behind will be top notch and of Olympic standard. Better facilities will result in better Academy products in the future but that bit is just my opinion.
3.) Public transport. One stop from Leyton and you're in Stratford. From there you can get to France and also Kent and Essex. Not only that but you will be in the West End/City within 30 minutes. Also, the A12 meets up with the M25 and M1 which is handy for the fans of the SEVEN Yorkshire based clubs.
Not only just for my purpose.

How do you know thousands of tickets were given to MD? Would you like to make clear that tickets were purchased?

I'm sure it was posted on here that MD were given a large amount (may not be thousands, but still a large amount) of free tickets and 'given' a stand at Priestfield. I'm sure some tickets were purchased also.

Yeah the links to Twickenham are terrible - How RU managed to get those people to turn up is anyone's guess.
Public transport in London is fine pretty much wherever you are.
Oh and your France logic is the most ridiculous thing I've heard on here might as well say that Twickenham is closer to Heathrow and Gatwick and therefore perfect to get to from anywhere in the world.

| Point 1. The London RL have pumped money into the East End. The club had a successful attendance in Kent, rather than many at Twickenham.
Point 2. I'm not on about a ground, I was mentioning tranining facilities rather than any possible sole RL ground.
Point 3. You can get to France, thats a fact. I never debated where was closer, I was stating a fact. You can get from East London to France. The large majority of people, RU enthusiasts mainly, say that Twickenham is a pain to get too. Its not just my opinion, its shared by many.

Strange justification for moving.
It's pretty well documented that Broncos preferred game slot is Saturday 3pm, and the community game play on a Saturday in London, which means a good many of them can't make Broncos games. And if they've played on a morning, even if it's within reasonable distance, they are less likely to watch a SL game in the afternoon anyway as then the entire day would be taken up with RL and mum and dad often have other ideas. The numbers playing community Rugby League in London & the South are decent but it's not the answer to Broncos attendance worries, nor are there enough of them that if every single player in the entire community game came there still wouldn't be over 2k.
Yes, some junior players and adult amateur players go to watch Super League, but not a significant number. The number of free/cheap/dirt cheap season ticket deals over the years have shown that being a junior team player and a Super League fan aren't the same thing.

So, based on the fact that you know the names of more clubs near where you are based, rather than the names of clubs where you aren't, bundled together with the "pretend" fact that your "pretend" free tickets were taken up in greater numbers than the "pretend" free tickets handed out in West London and or Medway, you believe that a move East is the way forward?
Using your logic....and I do use that term as loosely as I dare, the club should have moved to Welford Road in 2000, given that's where they got their biggest gate of 1999.... We could have become the Perpignan Broncos in 2006, give that's where our highest home gate of 2005 was....
Quote ="Moe Lester"2.) 2012. This year as we well know, we have the Olympic Games in the East of the City. The Bit in RED Bold reminds us that all of your previous efforts on justifying a move east have revolved around any such shift involving marketing, whilst totally ignoring the fact that the club have not marketed themselves anywhere else. I would suggest that rather than a costly move to pastures new, the club actually spend some money marketing where they are currently before upping sticks.

Twickenham Stoop is one of only a handful of purpose built Rugby Stadiums in the country. It is approximately a 10 minute walk from an rail line that is served by 20+ trains an hour and is in an area that is served by 25+ bus routes....in addition, it is in the shaddow of a stadium that has no problem getting 82,000 people through it's gates 7 or 8 times a year. As for Northern fans......as I have shown over the years, with my obsessive hobby of crowds at London games, the "away" fans that you speak of, often enough, are residents in London......when Wigan, Leeds or Saints play us, there are very rarely any more coaches than for other teams in the car park......yet these teams attract on average 1,500 to 2,500 more fans......where are they hiding these 75 seater coaches.....20+ of them
Quote ="Moe Lester"Not only just for my purpose.'"
Maybe not, but come back when you have a decent set of arguments for a move east other than to cover up the mistakes of the last 17 years by moving somewhere else to repeat them again, rather than facing the problem head on and doing something about it!
By the way.......THIS IS NOW A DERAILED THREAD............you were a tad premature with your assertion earlier that only made you look like an IDIOT.

No, this time you are spot on mate.
Where the Club is based is fine. All the claptrap about RL being working class sport, can't work in leafy Twickenham etxc., is total .
We've had good crowds in the past, so there's no reason whith a decent product on the pitch backed by great marketing that we can't have good crowds again.
Every other arguement is a smokescreen.

| What moving ground has to do with "getting rid of Powell" is beyond me!
The decision of the ground we play at or if we do in the future though may be out of our hands as a Club and again we can go on until the cows go home, but we are just a very small percentage of the few fans we have left anyway!
